We have just returned to Budge's house to do the FReep report because there is a lot of information to report.

In attendance were Budge, Travelgirl, The Battman, parsifal, Don Frivoinai, sweetliberty, and another FReeper who, for reasons you will come to understand shortly, needs to remain anonymous until after the election.

We arrived at Budge's around noon to get everything set up for the maiden FReep of the Arkansas Hog Wild FReepers and the FReepmobile. We got to the site around quarter after 1 and finished up some signs and headed over to the convention center to await the arrival of XXX42 and his horde of Rats. There we were joined by several folks from the Hutchinson campaign and there were quite a few folks who came down from Mount Ida. There ended up being about 30 of us on the outside.

During the wait, we were informed of quite a few "questionable" things going on. For starters, there was one young man who is active with Tim Hutchinson's campaign who was threatened with arrest if he didn't leave the premises. He had done nothing to provoke this action other than they knew who he was. One of the FReepers who is a poll watcher was also threatened with arrest when she tried to go inside the convention center. Another young man who is a Hutchinson aide had a ticket to the event and because he had been seen talkiing to the "opposition" he was not allowed in, being told that it was a private event and they could exclude whoever they wanted to. There was also a group of black folks who were with us so this young man passed his ticket to one of the black guys, who removed all his campaign stuff and went in incognito, laughing saying that they'd never suspect a black guy. Will give you his report later.

Nobody would tell us what door Clinton would be entering by so we took a chance and hung out on one side of the building where they said the car would drive by. True to form, XXX42 was late by nearly an hour. But here is the great part. We were positioned between 2 entrances. One was a major side entrance. The other was a small, fenced-in service entrance by the garbage dumpsters. Well, guess which one he used. Think....which would be most appropriate. Yep, you guessed it. The snake slithered in through the garbage entrance. And he got a look at our signs. It was a classic moment in FReeperdom.

There was a whopping 500 people or so there for the "event". There were few enough people that there was a Jehovah's Witness convention going on in the building at the same time. When Clinton arrived the Jehovah's Witnesses started leaving. At that time we didn't realize that there was another event going on and Travelgirl and The Battman asked one of the cops on duty why everyone was leaving. He responded, "if Clinton entered a room, what would YOU do?" When the Jehovah's Witnesses left, the parking lot started clearing out.

Anyway, we may have to flesh in this post after we all get home because there is a lot to tell, but there is certain information that it is very important to get out there NOW! Back to our "spy". When he came out, he said they were running it like a church service, and the whole focus was on how the evil Republicans are trying to keep them from voting. They were saying that we have all the poll watchers this election to prevent THEM from voting. Now, here is the clencher. They were told that there would be attorneys posted at every precinct to prevent poll watchers from challenging ANY ballots. Now, mind you, one of our poll watchers has already had massive problems with them at the polls during early voting the past couple of weeks and has been advised to retain an attorney. They have had the sherriff remove her from the polls twice when she had done nothing inappropriate...only challenging ballots for improper or no ID. There is an all out campaign by these people to intimidate the poll watchers and then turn around and accuse us of voter intimidation. This is serious and at least one person has some legitimate fear. I can't really elaborate at this point. The reason we wanted to get this up right away is to get other FReepers on the case to get this publicized and contact appropriate media, political and legal sources to alert them that Republican poll watchers in this county are likely to be facing an organized, all-out Rat attack. Any help that FReepers can offer is needed!! Make phone calls, send letters. Whatever you can do. Post your ideas as well.

Minorities are allowed to committ crimes, if you make any effort to stop them, you are a racist! Furthermore, their feelings are more important than any law. Blacks are the only minority and the NAACP is a non-partisan organization. The half-assed riot we did in the Jefferson County Courthouse proves it! Finally, democrats help minorities, like the welfare system that has kept them a third world nation for decades, and the minorities that they have put into power like ? while republicans have only put blacks in meaningless positions like secretary of defense and secretary of state and the US Supreme Court. If you are minority that isn't a puppet of the socialist agenda, your a traitor/uncle tom/etc. so there!

1. In florida you are REQUIRED to produce ID in order to vote. (Federal or State issued photo ID.)

2. This issue with the EXTRA poll watchers was not whether they could do the watching. The democrats complained ONE application was filed for the whole 450+ instead of individual applications for each one. Additionally the judge pointed out there were official watchers from both parties ALSO present at the same locations.

3. AGAIN, in florida the supervisor of elections is elected locally and funded locally. DADE AND BROWARD HAVE ALL DEMOCRAT SUPERVISORS OF ELECTION AND COUNTY COMMISIONS. In fact in broward, the county commisioners took over and did the supervisors job due to her GROSS incompetance. (they brough in the 2000 campain supervisor's assistant to do the job right. AND they sidlined the incompetent supervisors crony staff)

4. To many lies to deal with right now but that is the commie way for these scum. Overwhelm us with lies in hopes some will stick.

Alrighty then... I have been to numerous county and state GOP websites to gather what I hoped would be some enlightenment regarding poll watchers in particular. Surprise; not much there. Most had no references to poll watchers, or even election judges for that matter, let alone their duties and responsibilities.

The best of the worst I found was the Harris County(Tx)GOP web site which is of course Houston(part of it anyway). This item from that page is the only reference I found regarding poll watchers:

The Ballot Security Committee is conducting a Hot Line on Election Day from 6:00 AM until 7:30 PM.

If an Election Judge, Alternate Election Judge or Poll Watcher observes any irregularity or questions any activity in the polling location regarding the integrity of the election process, please call the HCRP main number (713-838-7900) and ask to speak to the Ballot Security team. We will answer your questions, assist you in taking follow-up action and refer you to the County authority which will handle your situation.

Please note that this is only for Ballot Security and Election Integrity issues. This does not replace your call to the Registrar's or Clerk's offices nor to law enforcement.

You'll notice they offer some guidance concerning who to call in the event of perceived mischief.

I gather the actual voting process is left to the devices of each county in most/all states therby opening the door to possible corruption of the process in the seedy precincts within seedy counties. This just happens to be where half, or more, of all votes come from within a state. Not news I know, but it does underscore the fact that this ain't conservative stomping grounds for the most part. We conservatives are not welcome there, and for good reason. This is why JJ and fat Al raise so much hell when law enforcement is within 5 miles of a polling place??? It ain't voter intimidation; it's fraud intimidation.

I was led to question why there is not more emphasis by the GOP concerning poll watchers. And it occurred to me that poll watchers like election judges will naturally be affiliated with a candidate or party or both, hence these positions would be best filled by locals on the ground who actually know these people's party affiliation---little chance of a trojan horse in that position. The Dims worked this out a long time ago; we're still in training ; )

Poll watching has been around for decades, but it seems to have been a hit and miss proposition and not targeted very well. We know where the fraud is taking place, and while we're not welcome there, there we'll need to be nonetheless. I now believe the RNC is where the emphasis needs to come from for getting Pubbies energized to be poll watchers(especially where we're not welcome). Some broad guidelines along with some assurances that the poll watchers will have proper support when and if it's needed. The local GOP organizations will be charged with getting the right people in the right place at the right time...

BTW, has anyone seen a thread thanking Gov. Racicot and Rep. Frist for their efforts during the election? I haven't, and I think we dropped the ball if we haven't sang their praises. JMO.

Thanks for the research. Wirestripper did post some Arkansas information for poll watchers earlier on this thread, but the point you make is a good one. It is something that we have the right and the responsibility to do and I think we have not been very conscientious about it. But in sincerity, and perhaps I am still too naive, I think that it probably wasn't until the election of 2000 that we began to realize what a fraud game that the Rats had in play because we still tended to see our fellow human beings as having enough basic integrity that discrepancies were more likely to be seen as mistakes rather than blatant cheating. Of course, watching Clinton and his operatives for those 8 long years changed the way we saw a lot of things, and not for the better. Hopefully now that we have begun to catch on and try to restore integrity to the process we can reverse the trend. Only problem is that we seem to be so much harder to energize than they are? Why do you suppose that is?

Yeah, some rose colored glasses there for sure sweetliberty. If you haven't looked into some of the shady doins' of LBJ in south Texas back in the 60's, you should. And that was just a beginning for him! Voter fraud has been with us since the 1800's from accounts I ran across looking into the poll watcher business. I guess it sort of ebbs and flows.

Only problem is that we seem to be so much harder to energize than they are? Why do you suppose that is?

The RATS, given their penchant for knowing what's best for us, want to tell everybody how to run their lives. Conservatives just want to be left alone???
