Man Sues After Finding Girl Not His Daughter

MELBOURNE (Reuters) - An Australian man is suing his former partner to recover more than $10,000 he spent on a little girl, for things such as presents, zoo trips and meals, after discovering she was not his daughter, a newspaper said on Friday.

"I want it all back -- every cent for every toy, every blanket, every bit of food," the man, who can't be identified for legal reasons, said.

"I wouldn't have spent all that money had I known five years ago she wasn't my kid," he was quoted saying by the Herald-Sun.

The claims include take-away McDonald's food over five years, four visits to an amusement park, three Barbie dolls, a Pooh Bear play tent, a day of skating, and child support payments.

The Herald-Sun said the man took the action after DNA tests found the girl was not his daughter.

The girl's mother said she was willing to repay the child support payments but that she should not have to pay back anything else.

"She had a good time with him that's the main thing," she was quoted as saying. "I don't think he should carry on too much about it. He should treat it like doing something nice with a friend."

Your post illustrates why men should get vasectomies AND refuse to marry. Marriage and children are a free pass for government control of a man's life. Men should do every thing they can to prevent the state from controlling their right to work, live and prosper from the simple act of having sex.

Unless a man wants children, he is crazy to get married, because if his wife wants them, she can have them without him, and STILL make him pay. This applies to step-fathers too in some states.

I see no evidence that he fooled around with numerous women. Not only that, but I see some evidence here that he might have stayed in a relationship he didn't want to be in for the sake of the child.

One thing that needs to be pointed out, child support, is not the issue.

I find it difficult to believe that women, once impregnated, do know with a high degree of certainty the father of their child. And if in doubt would seek an immediate resolution through the proper tests.

That being said; any woman that takes support from a man that is not the father of the child deserves any blame. Especially if the guy no longer feels the same about the child.

It was her deciet that created false relationships. And completely her fault how those emotional ties wind up.

I agree. I'm willing to bet his feelings for the little girl have not changed, but he is ticked at being duped. Some here forget who is hurt in this mess. Not mom, she is hurt financially like most crooks are when their crimes uncovered, but the other two parties are hurt emotionally, one financially by way of fraud, etc. I'd like to see mothers who deliberately pull this fraud actually lose their children to the parent who the children have known as a father--let them become the visiting parent--I know, maybe not best for the kid--I'm just feeling vengeful right now at all these frauds who share my gender.

This guy is a creep. After spending all of that time with this little girl who believes he is her father he is going to throw that all away. What the mother did was very wrong but it possibly even worse what the man is doing. We don't know all the facts here but the little girl is the victim and shouldn't be cast aside like so much trash.

All of this chest beating by the "men" here who feel they are getting the shaft sickens me. They were in these relationships and knew full well what happens when men and women have sexual relations. The fact that they often do this outside of marriage should alert most any man that this possibility exists. Sometimes the women don't even know for sure who the father is because they have many partners or are unsure of when the conception took place. The men are not living in another world. They know what is going on or if not they deserve the results because they are idiots. "Free Love" is not free at all. It exacts a price. This guy is a jerk.

What I see on this thread is some men who have alot of hostility toward women - and kids apparently...and I doubt they are fathers in any sense because they would realize how screwed up their priorities are.

This guy thought he was having "free" sex - then thought the kid was his - then found out it wasn't 5 years later....duh
