"Five years later he gets the DNA test?"

Exactly! This guy is responsible in that there must've been a possibility he was the father, or he wouldn't have thought he was the father.

What I see on this thread is some men who have alot of hostility toward women - and kids apparently...and I doubt they are fathers in any sense because they would realize how screwed up their priorities are.

This guy thought he was having "free" sex - then thought the kid was his - then found out it wasn't 5 years later....duh

Now he wants all his happy meal money back...If he cared about the 'daughter' it would be different, BUT obviously he only cares about his $$$

And we're suppose to feel sorry for him???

The daughter should be glad someone so shallow and cold isn't her real father.

Ridiculous.

It is not hostility towards women, but hostility towards criminals. Fraud is illegal, in case you forgot. That is, unless you are suggesting that all women are fradulent sluts. Is that what you are saying? I dont think so.

This man did the right thing towards what he thought was his child. He has every right to ask for every dime he spent under false pretenses. Let the mother introduce the child to her real father.

Let the two of them deal with the hurt cause by the mothers duplicity. Dont blame a man who was lied to, for seeking to correct a lie.

You're saying that if a man has sex with a woman who later has a child by someone else, he is responsible for the child produced?

Sunny, If your take on the situation is correct, then your answers apply. The article left too much room for speculation. I assumed the guy had casual sex with the woman and it was a one-time thing. She told him the baby was his to get financial support or whatever, knowing it belonged to someone else. Five years passed and maybe she decided she wanted the real father back so had the dna tests taken. No matter what happened in the past or what happens after the dna, the child will get the truth and will be hurt. It all rests with the mother who created this scenario in the first place. I see examples of this all the time, unfortunately, and it disgusts me that men and women can put children in a bad situation. The best way to protect this child is to be honest with her as much as a child can take. If the guy wants his money back, give it to him and allow him a cooling off period. If he becomes a no-show, the mother can support her emotionally but perhaps he will rekindle the relationship when it is his choice. It is too bad this happened but kids go through similar situations with an absent parent all the time. It's not fair but society created a bunch of irresponsible people with the feel-good attitudes of the sixties until now. It sure doesn't feel good to the children though, does it?

I get it...we are all women and children haters because we don't want to pay for someone elses kid? Makes total sense. (/sarcasm)
