More Crew to come...

Carnival's cruise ship Triumph docked at St. Thomas.

Ahoy, Freepers!  Why not make your next year's vacation a FREEPER CRUISE? Can't think of a better idea!
United we stand for conservative activism AND some good old-fashioned fun, too!

This cruise thread will be running right up until embarkation day.  It'll be packed with lots of information.
Post your enthusiastic comments here.  Links are provided below for stateroom/fares information, registration form and
the Bahama Mama Q&A thread devoted solely to answers for all your cruise questions and to provide you with smooth sailing.

We strongly urge you to register ASAP.  We need a certain number of registrations by a mid-January cutoff date
to ensure our reserved block of cabins with Carnival.  From many communications we've received since last year's terrific cruise,
we're certain the interest is out there.  We don't want to have to deep-six this event if we don't get enough registrations in a timely manner.
PLEASE NOTE to hold off on making your air tickets reservations until we give you the go-ahead.
We have more than ample lead-time for this cruise and you'll be able to get good air-fare bargains in plenty of time!
Since some air-transportation tickets are non-refundable, we don't want anyone to be left holding the ditty-bag.

As an incentive for early registration, the first 20 Freepers to get their reservations into the travel agency
will win their choice of five (5) sheets of Ocents.com stamp sheets (go to that website for Seeking the Truth's array of terrific stamps!)
They will also receive a usflagballoon.com pin courtesy of Abner (check out Abner's usflagballoon website
to view the colorful pin and some excellent pictures of the US Flag Balloon!)  Registrations will be dated and time-stamped by the agency.
Winners will be notified and they'll receive their gift stamps and pins via mail.

We've got a great contest planned for later.  A lucky winner will receive a FREE cabin for two!
Last year, the contest was won by our Freeper pal, Taxman.  This time it may be you!

Bookmark this thread.  We'll keep you posted as plans evolve.  Register now for this fun-filled getaway in the sun!
Informal FRN meetings will be held on board which will be full of information and idea-sharing for effective conservative activism.

Rock the boat with your fellow Freepers!  Climb aboard today!

This page is for general comments about the cruise.
If you have questions, do not post them here.
Use the Bahama Mama link and ask them there.
Thank you!

I hope you managed to negotiate a good discount for everyone due to the business the group is bringing to the cruise line.

Sounds like a great time. Can't wait until my first cruise - once the six kids are older.

Hey, that's what parents are for - babysitting!

Seriously, my wife and I went on our first cruise this year - the FRN Freeper Island cruise.

Wow is all I can say. The only negative we had was that the cruise was too short!

That's why this cruise is longer and being announced early enough in order that our fellow Freepers can actually plan the vacation time (plus make arrangements with parents for rugrats & kidlets) :)

You never asked if the cruise was a fundraiser.

strela was "apparently" correct, if not actually correct.

And the truth will set you free.

"Ain't capitalism and free choice great?"

Absolutely - and "an educated consumer is our best customer."

An interesting (if somewhat cryptic) statement, especially since you noted in another post in this thread that you apparently never intended to join this particular cruise at all; to wit:

"Can't wait until my first cruise - once the six kids are older."

I think its nice that you were concerned enough to make repeated inquiries about matters such as compensation for those who have worked so hard in organizing this junket, while at the same time never intending to take advantage of the service yourself. It is obvious to even the most jaded observer that you asked the questions you did solely out of altruistic concern for the pocketbooks of your fellow Freepers. Applause.

Educated choices are the wisest ones.

And don't you agree that hidden agendas are sometimes the most transparent?

re your Post 63:

Very interesting information. However, I do not see how it is germane to this thread. Perhaps you should start your own thread on the varying compensation policies of transportation companies in "Chat."

Depending upon the number of registrants, all cruise lines and most hotels/resorts provide incentive benefits to civic, charitable, veterans, political, etc. organizations sponsoring group cruises.

In the announcement at the beginning of this thread, it was clearly stated that FRN is required by the cruise line to have a sufficient number of reservations by a time certain, or there'll be no cruise at all.

Therefore, we have no idea at this time what benefits may accrue to FRN, if any. When the cruise is nailed down, and depending upon the number of registrations, we'll have this information and will post it.

Any benefits accruing to FRN will be used to support its conservative activism programs as was done following the last cruise. No organization can survive without some fund-raising efforts, and FRN is no exception.

From the enthusiasm shown and committments received, there's no doubt we'll receive the number of registrations required by the cruise line to hold the block of staterooms we've reserved.

Our sincere thanks to all freepers who intend to participate in this family-oriented event for the benefit of our conservative cause.

Also thanks to the many Freeper volunteers who have and are stepping up to help in the complicated job of organizing the cruise.

The success of this cruise depends to a great extent on the the labors of the committee, but the most important factor is the support of our dedicated Freepers whether they are able to participate or not.

No individual concerned with the organization of the cruise receives any benefit whatsoever except the subsequent personal reward of a difficult job well done.

I hope this answers any concerns raised on this thread.

Very good! By starting this way you can brag about how much you raise instead ducking bobing and denying.

strela take note: A lie repeated often enough doesn't necessarily become the truth.

Wow, MadIvan! We sure hope you will join this cruise!

Can't think of any more celebrated freeper we'd love to meet than you, our distinguished conservative cousin from Great Britain, an erudite and witty poster and all-around great guy!

What fun this cruise will be!

ONLY $660 for a 7 day cruise is a terrific deal. Anytime you can get a cruise for less than a $100/day, that is a great deal.

SEVEN STRAIGHT DAYS OF ...
All the warm sun you can soak up,
All the tropical sea breezes you can breathe in,
All the bountiful buffets you can eat,
All the entertainment you can handle,
All the conservative camaraderie you can bask in

THAT'S FREEPS AHOY!!!!!

It would be nice to KNOW how many people we really need to get the trip guaranteed....?

How many do we have to have?

So true, Dittomom. I might add to your list why a cruise is such a great vacation:

No hundreds of miles of numbing driving every day.
No searching for the least crummy restaurants or motels each day
Knowing your costs up front
A secure environment
No phones ringing, no doorbells chiming, no in-laws dropping in unexpectedly for dinner, hah!
Chocolates on your pillows every night
Your own steward at your beck and call
No cooking, no cleaning house, no doing dishes all day
Steaks, prime rib, rack of lamb, lobster and the like for dinner, all included in price
Midnight buffets instead of midnight TV movie re-runs
Supervised fun programs for the kids
Aperetifs by moonlight on deck
Great discussions with lots of freepers you always wanted to meet up front and personal

And the list goes on....and on.....

The number of registrations and bona fide checks and credit card payments received by our travel agency within approximately the next couple weeks will determine whether our block of cabins will be reserved. We estimate two to three dozen registrations will accomplish our goal.

We urge all those planning to cruise to get your reservations in ASAP. It will be a big help. Remember, the first twenty recipients will receive the donated prizes described in the announcement at the beginning of this thread.

Thanks for your interest in this event, GRRRRR. Eagerly anticipating your reservation for this exciting voyage.

Hi Mo! The little wheels are spinning and trying to figger it all out. Every cruise we've been on has been great after the FR withdrawal shakes have calmed down. ;-)
