Mondale says: "We're going to tax their ass off" Mondale Quote from DemocRAT Convention:
"Dan Rostenkowski, standing next to the candidate in front of the cameras and the cheering crowd at the convention after the fateful speech, whispered to Mondale, "You've got a lot of balls, pal." According to Rostenkowski, Mondale whispered back, "Look at 'em, we're going to tax their ass off."

From a lifelong Republican so glad you saw the light!
I actually supported George H. W. Bush in that 1980 primary, but then became a total Reagan supporter when he won the nomination.

I didn't like him then and I SURE don't like him now!I just wanted to second that. I found the 1984 campaign to be almost as annoying as the ones since from the DemocRAT candidates. Mondale is nothing more than a very leftist liberal and was amazed they brought another retred out! He scared me back when he was running and that hasn't changed.
To: F.J. Mitchell
I love that! RepubliCATS!
To: LiberalBuster
Don't forget Lautenberg! These old retreds being brought out is astounding! You are right -- the COLD WAR is not over!
To: Fledermaus
"that Neo-Nazi and his slum-lord running mate"! Boy did that bring back memories! That is one of the funniest lines I ever heard in a race!

You are right -- Take and Spend does work!
To: Humal
Good for you! I heard his server had crashed with the overload. MN State GOP was also getting a lot of donations!

He scared me back when he was running and that hasn't changed. Being the "old bird" that he is, I think that he will be just used as a "puppet" now. The Rats will be pulling his strings, that's for sure. ~gag.......
If this is the best MN Dems could come up with, they are in more trouble then we think. YEAAAAA heh!

With a name like Republicats, we would surely lure a lot of the younger dudes and dudettes into our enlightened party-couldn't hurt.

Defeet are de first to go-Mondale barely has delegs to stand on, much less defeet to run on. At his age , even getting his Bowles....uh, bowels to move is often regarded as an event worth celebrating with a prune juice Margerita.
With Moondale, TurkeyByrd and Lootingberg as inaminate objects to use as road blocks to any legislation headed toward the Senate, Daschelle can spend his days taking stretching excercises to see if his dimunitive body responds as well as does lies to his stretching of the truth.

Honestly...it was an educational experience...and I don't blame The Gipper.
It started my conversion from a slightly left-of-center populist type...
to a "hey, dammit, that's MY MONEY, you tax-and-spend b@stards!".
The part that torqued me was that there was no phase-in to change a policy that
had gone on for decades.
A good example is the four-year period given to pay taxes on funds converted from
a traditional tax-deductible IRA to a Roth IRA.
And for that kindness...Senator Roth was voted out at the next election.
Go figure...
