FoxNews slams Military: Major Label of Sniper is "Army Vet" NOT "Islamic Sniper"
Fox News, 01:00 AM (NewsBreak)

This is outrageous!
The truth is that
1. Islamics blew up the World Trade Center
2. Islamics blew up a wing of the Pentagon in which many members of the ARMY died.
3. Islamics blew up the USS Cole in which US military died.
4. Islam is the issue with Al Quaeda and Bin Laden.
This man is JOHN MUHAMMED, an Islamic who was "sympathetic" to the 9/11 terrorists.
He's been out of the Army for years. He never received specialized training in sniping in the Army. He DIDN'T MAKE IT in the Army.
But the lead is: "Army Vet"
As a 20 year Army retiree, I deeply resent this, but I resent even more the politically correct culture that makes it impossible to call an islamic terrorist an islamic terrorist.

what do you mean *IF* he has connections? he doesnt need connections if they are called to do violence and he follows.
He is a terrorist.
He is Islamic.
Therefor he is an Islamic terrorist.
Why are you so quick to slam the Army but so slow to see the obvious?

You obviously don't have a 20 year career in the Army and KNOW that the Army doesn't produce this kind of idiot.
Islam, however, has a track record for doing so.

Not to mention..."Gulf War veteran"...
but...don't despair...this really doesn't seem the focus of the news coverage I've seen. Earlier, I very cynically asked my better half for his opinion: "one guess, 'hon'...emphasis on black muslims or Gulf war vets?" Surprisingly, he said "blacks", Muslim or not.
All kinds of opinions out there, clearly, but the Jamaican "quasi-stepson" and the year(s) in Antigua (among other things) make me think this suspect's military background is the least contributory to his problems (or as Rummy said..."You've got to be kidding!")

>>I'm PO'd and you're supposed to help me stay that way!Well, okay.
Some of the other posters have been spot on. Fox news has mentioned the fact, this John Mohammad is Islamic and his actions were those of a terrorist. I was just talking about the official public labeling procedure. There is no way to give Islam another pass after this one. I think if nothing else, Fox News will make sure of that!

I doubt his rampage had any motives concerning his previous service with the U.S. military.
Exactly.
1. He was trying to funnel 10 million bucks into a credit card account.
2. They knew they weren't going to be able to go to the local "Applebees" and use that card for dinner without getting traced.
3. They knew they weren't going to pull it out of an ATM at $300 a whack.
4. They were going to WIRE IT to Whom? For what cause? 5. And the total plan: random murder, money transfer, extortion is pretty sophisticated for someone who was sleeping in a junky car at a reststop.

>>>Why are you so quick to slam the Army but so slow to see the obvious? You better get your mouth examined. It's saying things that aren't true. Who slammed the Army, bucko. Not me. And I'm not slow to see the obvious, I just don't jump to conclusions.
So stuff a sock in it!

For the parts of this that are going to be involved in the criminal prosecution/s of the murders, it's important to focus on the "what" - "just the facts." To prevent other suchlike stuff, to deal with the "why" stuff - other people will deal with that - out of the view of the public and the media. And rightly so.

I saw Fred Barnes tonight turning crimson while railing against all the PC reportage and scorning those who avoided the dreaded
ISLAMIC TERRORISTS label.
Even Columbo didn't need this many clues.

>>>There is not and should not be a continual presumption that his military background was the driving force to his murders.Okay. But just who is making these assumptions? Anyone who really matters? I think not. All the facts haven't been released yet. There is some validity to the fact, that he changed his name from an all American name, Williams, to a Muslim name, Mohammad. That's pretty obvious.
I want to know if he has any links to any organizations that support international terrorism, as in Al Qaeda, Islamis Jihad and the Islamic Brotherhood. If he's an unaffilliated terrorist, then that should come out in time.
To: 88keys
(clarification: Mr. 88 is not a "racist"...by "blacks", he meant the "news angle" would be not to "blame" Islam, or U.S. military training for causing the I-95 shooter's actions, but rather the shooter's "disenfranchised status" as an African-American.)

I'm with you. If they need to mention the military angle, they should always say he was a only DRIVER who was DISHONORABLY DISCHARGED after an attempted peacetime fragging!!!!
To: rwfromkansas
AND the fact that he converted to Islam 17 years ago, AND the fact that he changed his surname to Mohammed. GET A GRIP!

This Gulf War vet had a little too much nerve gas in Iraq. Yep, that's it.
