Silly question.

Can he be prosecuted for 13 seperate shootings, 13 seperate times? Once he is convicted once, that first conviction can form the basis of the "special circumstances" for any subsequent convictions.

They ought to have 13 chances to get this guy.

If he is proved to be tied to a terrorist organization such as Al Qaeda, then it might be relevant.

Since when does Al Qaeda issue membership cards? Use your noggin.

Anyway, check out my other post about Calypso Louie and 9-11.

I have. I watched much of his hate-filled speech in DC and I think your idea of getting the C-SPAN footage from that event (and others) is a great idea.

Look for a John Muhammed--Black Panthers link to emerge. The Black Panthers were founded in Montgomery, Alabama.

Earnest James Ujaama's father was a Black Panther.

Ujaama has a connection with the mosque run by a man from Tacoma.
Al Qaeda Camp in Oregon

By Patrick J. McDonnell

The Los Angeles Times | September 24, 2002

Prosperity may have bypassed this corner of the Pacific Northwest, but self-styled entrepreneur Earnest James Ujaama sensed opportunity. In the secluded landscape of parched ranch land and rugged volcanic outcroppings, he saw visions of Afghanistan--and a chance for profit in the jihad training business. In the fall of 1999, federal authorities say, Ujaama faxed a proposal promoting creation of a "jihad training camp" in the United States. It was addressed to a radical London cleric and reputed Al Qaeda recruiter named Abu Hamza Al-Masri.

Ujaama--a Muslim convert from Seattle, born James Earnest Thompson--had become a protege of Abu Hamza, according to U.S. officials who say the American pledged bayat, an oath of loyalty, to the mullah. Ujaama studied Islam at the London mosque and helped manage an affiliated Web site advocating violence against the United States and other Western nations.

[snip]Back in Seattle, Ujaama's younger brother Mustafa had helped establish a storefront mosque in the central city. Ujaama introduced Abu Hamza's teachings to the Seattle congregation.

"He brought us all the books and knowledge that you couldn't get here in America," said Ali Shahid Abdul-Raheem, 30, formerly known as Patrick Fitzsimmons. An ex-cabby from Seattle, Raheem said he converted to Islam while doing prison time for robbery.

During some of Ujaama's visits, the prayer leader, or imam, of the Seattle mosque was an outspoken man of Lebanese origin named Semi Osman. Fluent in Arabic, Osman was skilled at reciting from the Koran. Osman also was a mechanic, perpetually short of cash and supporting a wife and her two children from a previous marriage.

[snip]The first arrest in the case came in May, when Osman, 32--who "helped coordinate" the Bly camp, according to the FBI document--was taken into custody as he turned up for his citizenship interview in Seattle with U.S. immigration authorities.

A search of his Tacoma apartment turned up various weapons, military maps and field manuals, "instructions on poisoning water sources," papers by Abu Hamza, "and various other items associated with Islamic radicalism," according to a law enforcement summary. Osman, a Navy reservist, pleaded guilty to a weapon charge and is said to be cooperating, hoping to avoid deportation.

I'm not defending the talking heads, but most of them do try to report the news objectively and avoid excessive speculation.

Apparently you watch different talking heads than I do.

Note to self: Read to the bottom of the thread before posting duplicate ideas.

That said, I think that NBC ought to buy the rights to this guy's many trials. Try him once a season, and they would have a ratings winner for the next four years!

How could it? People are saying Muslims. I have friends who are Christians of Arabic descent and I sure wouldn't want them lumped into the stereotypical all-Arabs-are-bad category.

Time to shine a bright light on the activities of brother Farrakhan, whom the media portray as a clergyman or harmless scamp. My prediction is the brighter the light, the more cockroaches will run for cover.

Looks to me like the media is more interested in reporting that the guy is an ex-soldier/Gulf War veteran -- per the LA Times thread & CNN this morning

(disavowed by many Islamic muslims as being false)?

Do you have a source for this statement? I would love to believe this, but have not seen such anywhere.

One of the victims of this rampage was also connected to the million man march. Kenneth Bridges from Philadelphia, killed at a gas station in VA, provided some sort of professional assistance to it. I find this information very interesting.

No. I'm saying I understand where they are coming from. People have been saying for a long time that there is just as much danger within our borders as those coming from without. That goes for enviro-terrorists, Muslim terrorists, or whomever.

People shouldn't be guilty by association, but closing our eyes to the obvious link between Al-Q and the American- grown, RADICAL Muslims is foolhardy.

Me Too! I work all over the DC Area. I have a son and his family living in Vienna and working in Crystal City. Another son drives to Stafford from Prince William and works as a bar tender and I feel a great sense of relief.
