Let's keep a live commentary thread going again today. The FBI Tip Line #1-888-324-9800.
All seems quiet since yesterday's news the shooter may target children specifically. It was released on various news outlets the shooter's 3-page letter to police was in broken English and threatened extreme violence. Police announced an electronic transfer of $10m as requested by the shooter was not possible but other options for transfer remain open. No one seriously believes police will actually give the shooter $$, but police are trying to keep a dialogue open with the shooter in an effort to capture this monster.

Thanks again, Peach for the thread. We behaved very well last night. I was on all day and some last night and I didn't notice the thread go down hill at any point. No namecalling or anything with the exception of one post. Not bad for an almost 3000post thread.

No, Moose brought it up first.

As a VERY close neighbor to the Aspen Hill area (I live in Silver Spring, MD), I can confirm that the area is crawling with immigrants, hispanics specifically. I have no doubt that they represent the majority in the immeidate area.

The Aspen Hill - Silver Spring - Wheaton area has a large minority/immigrant population...particularly Hispanics and Asians. Montgomery County is a veritable melting pot...as exemplified in the victims' diverse backgrounds

maybe, but if I could get that 1/2 mil reward, I wouldn't
be worried about being legal.

Floridians are truly dim bulbs. Present company excepted, of course. :)

there has to be some way that the killer makes himself invisible. I figure that the next most common vehicle in the DC area next to white vans is LE vehicles. Just a thought.....

"Has anyone who lives in the area heard anything about canceling Halloween? I shudder to think how many kids he/they could take out under cover of darkness. For several years now, I have felt Halloween is an inappropriate function. Back in the 50s and 60s the streets were safe. They are no longer. "I think I would have a Halloween party and skip the trick or treating. Much more fun anyway. I wonder if the sale of beer/wine, etc. is way up in the D.C. area? I know I am having to keep a vigilant eye on my vino consumption in the past year and I just cannot IMAGINE the stress of being a parent anywhere near D.C.!
My prayers are with you all.

Anyone know if there are a lot of immigrants in the area of the yesterday's shooting?Uh, you don't think Congressmen and Senators are riding those busses or hanging around bus stops do you?

"Here in So Florida, Democrat rumor has it that the sniper has been hired by Republicans to scare people into staying indoors on election day. They're buying this story, too. "Why would the Republicans stay home; they have the guns.

Does anyone know if the notes being left at the killings are written in German? That was being discussed before and I cannot remember if it was descredited or not.

OK, you're here. Now I can run to the grocery! LOL! Back in a bit!
To: wewillnotfail
Yea but you have to report anything above 10,000 to the IRS and this would not sit well with an illegal.
To: Vol2727
Am sure that they have quite a bit of immigrants in the area, you know to do the jobs that Americans refuse to do. However, Moose said something that some immigrant witnesses had reported that other immigrants had not come forth. I am using the word immigrant.

Perhaps not. Although - did anything ever come out of the trip the feds made down to Gitmo to question the detainees about the sniper? I don't recall hearing anything.

Does David Bloom actually think that the public doesn't know that this is a "very dangerous time?"

Moose: No free pass for illegals, but do the right thing anyway.
Rocket J Squirrel: We will get through this together.
Pressitute: What about elections?
Rocket J Squirrel: I'm going vote. Gov's putting options together (probably just declare 'rats as the winner).
Pressitute: Have any thing to say to illegals?
Rocket J Squirrel: Blah, blah, Blah. We don't ask status.
Pressitute: would you release info about deadline.
Rocket J Squirrel: Not public. those you need to know. (Yeah, the targets don't need to know)

Brouchard gives me about as much confidence as Tommy Thompson's assurances about Anthrax.
