I agree. However, I also agree with txdoda that it is very likely that the sniper has chosen Moose to represent the police in this media dialog.

I get upset when people like K Kennedy T and Pat Brown immediately want to blame gun owners and availability of guns whenever there is a tragedy. I wish I could remember all the ignorant things that Brown said but it made me so mad that I emailed FOX to complain about her, something I almost never do.

Right the brother of the unibomber read the released stuff and said "$hi!, that's my brother!" Then he called the authorities.

If the data had not been released, the Unibomber might be still bombing and killing people.

This is not being done with the sniper case. They have to keep some data secret to eliminate the zillion wannabees calling in to confess to the sniping. However, someone in America knows who these snipers are. We just need to see some of the data, hand writing and maybe some other data.

Then someone will say, "I know who the killer is!"

This spree is likely the least reason to do so in this (DC)area. This is merely another, perhaps more immediate reason to do so. It is the reason why this family does that no matter where they live.

Well I hate to be one to promote a reactive responce, but in the current situation that we are living in a persons got to do what they think is in theirs and theirs families best interest.

I agree with you re home schooling in most school districts in America.

However, if my children were in reasonably good schools in the DC urban area, had good teachers, were learning and liked it, after those threats, they would be home schooled.

I think you are right. I haven't particularly liked the way Moose has handled the press conferences, but he isn't running the show. I thought he did alright today. Better than he was doing in the beginning.

So the incompetence is higher up than Moose. It's incompetence at the highest levels of the FBI and ATF, which is not a comforting thought.

I noticed today Moose said "person" or "people responsible". Mostly the FBI profilers have been saying it is a single individual. Maybe they are finally considering the possibility of a group.

Best of luck, and let's hope this thing is resolved between now and your return. If it isn't, however, you'll need to face the situation at some point. Hope you're putting thought into what you'll ask your kids to do; living with this type of situation may become a common occurrence going forward, and it'd be terrible to have your kids live in constant fear.

While these events are tragic, there's a statistically small probability any one person will be targeted. Just something to keep in mind.

There are many ways to preserve vital evidence for later trials and to flush out the phoney confessors.

That is not being done in this case and in other high profile unsolved murders in liberal cities with PC Police Chiefs, and I should include PC DA's.
