ALERT I haven't read all of the posts, but I think there is something big going on. Think about it! How would you get the officer in - charge to deliver non-stop messages to the press? Before he went to the NATIONAL MEDIA, he had to accept the fact that he would be setting a bad precdent for future would-be snippers and secondly he would look like a "fool" for being yanked around by the "snipper". In short, he would only do this if he knew the "snipper" could cause serious harm to the public. My question is this, does the snipper have WMD?

Chris Core is still insisting that the VA counties closed their schools because the parents in the counties insisted. I think this must mean that VA law enforcement people leaked the text of the threat to children to people in their localities. And I suspect that the fact that the text of the threat was common knowledge in VA explains why Moose and the sniper investigation decided to make the text of the threat public nationwide.

My point was that by reading that, the LEAs have further played into this guys hands.

Could be the shooter demanded it be read. As much as Moose has tried to give out little info lately, I doubt he would just up and decide to read that post script. I think he was 'forced' to read it. What the consequences would have been had he not, I do not know.

I agree about the hassle given Chief Moose and the ridicule.

We need to support the police, have the media and police STOP WITH THE LEAKS. Let the authorities do their best as they judge needs to be done so that they can maintain as much safety for the citizens as possible.

We do not and will not know from day to day what is in play. We don't need to know because we can do nothing about it. However, we need to demand the press handle the information they find with extreme - I say - extreme care.
