Well, Peach, based on an article from July 1, 2002. I'd say that there is a big possibility that these shootings are ME terrorists with or without domestic help.

Money, as pointed out isn't a good reason to rule out ME terrorists as other posters have pointed out.

Based on the above article, the shootings could be multiple cells, taking turns, keeping LE confused. The shootings are close enough in radius at this time, that onc cell or person, could still be doing them. But if they really do have pockets set up in Virginia, then multiple cells can't be ruled out either. And per the article, "Last year, U.S. marshals arrested James Hobson, who was visiting Baladullah, on a firearms warrant out of South Carolina, where al-Fuqra has another encampment. Since Hobson, doesn't sound very ME, its possible that domestic assistance is being used. jmo

WMAL said it was a Ride On bus. If the person hit was the driver, they've started going after uniformed personnel.

WHEATON, MD. - A man has been shot on a Ride On bus in the Aspen Hill area of Montgomery County, not far from the scene of the other sniper shootings.

WTOP's Kristi King is at the scene. She reports investigators are speaking with people who are still on the bus.

AFT agents are combing a wooded area near the scene, WTOP Editor Lydia Postlewaite reports from the scene.

Connecticut Avenue is closed down. Rolling roadblocks are set up throughout Montgomery County.

Police are searching all vehicles, WTOP Traffic Reporter Lisa Baden reports.

The Capital Beltway at the American Legion Bridge is shut down.

Georgia Avenue was closed between Route 108 and Randolph Road, a fire spokesman said.

maybe the demand is that the money be wired to a foreign country, maybe Pakistan or Saudi Arabia. These are terrorist countries that we ignore and they would shelter the killer as well as cash the check for him/them

It was almost pitch black when the shooting occurred - hadn't really thought about night siting capabilities but sounds right.

Just heard eyewitness account linked on Imus on local radio. A caller to a newsroom reported driver of bus, black/African-American male, est. age 35-50, shot in right side through door of bus. Door of bus faces wooded area. One passenger on a bus, a woman, being talked to by police.

If this was a Bus Driver... I wonder since he is threatening police in the letter about school kids that maybe now he is hinting around by shooting a public bus driver, that a school bus driver with bus full of kids is next if he does not get his way. Someone on the other thread said he put a 3 day demand response on the letter from Saturday.
