For your information, I lived in West Berlin during the 1968 Czechoslovakian crisis, when Russian tanks were brought up to the borders, and my husband had to leave me at home while he went to the Marienfelde installation and was issued a gas mask.

There will be times when it is indeed more prudent to stay at home. If you want to run around out in the streets, be my guest.

I am just tired of being accused of being cowardly because my contingency plans don't match yours. Also, I don't spend a lot of time criticizing others for what worries them. I think it is poor form.

If I saw one of you people trying to ENCOURAGE people to be brave, and giving helpful suggestions, I wouldn't get so aggravated.

Is anyone getting concerned that, once the government starts requiring/subsidizing/guaranteeing "terrorism insurance" that every significant crime in the country is going to be dragged through the courts as a terrorist event by a new cadre of bloodsucking legal specialists?

Second, I keep hearing that the latest killing continues the observed "random selection" of victims. Now its possible that the shooter lurked in the woods after casing the bus stop, expecting that riders would show up. But the victim was a driver, on a bus on a schedule, on a scheduled layover. Of all the victims so far, this one COULD have been singled out in advance. Lets' not embrace "random" so quickly.

WTOP is annoying. Every chance they get they say "we're expecting the press conference to start any minute" and then just leave you hanging. They did this earlier from 11:50 EDT until the news conference actually started.
