Because I only teach 120 kids a year. +++ In other words, "I love me." Ohhhh c'mon. You're a public school teacher. A taxpayer leech. You get a government welfare check. You're just a public servant. Get over yourself.

++++ You're going to get a lot of heat over this but boy did your words make me smile. In fact, I'm going to print that out because the next time I hear a teacher boo-hooing over their poor pitiful life I shall scream.

My neighbor teaches second grade. She's been working for our county for over thirty years, makes 65K a year, gets full health care coverage, a handsome retirement. I don't necessarily begrudge her these things with this service and all, but she boo-hoos everytime I see her about the rigors of her job.

You know what I'm dying to tell her? Good that you asked. I want to say..."Listen, there's a guy who works maintenance for the shopping center I manage. He catches the subway and two buses to get to work. He makes 7.00 an hour. Down the hall is a young girl, divorced and supporting her child, who must drive almost 150 miles ONE WAY to get her kid to childcare and on to work on time. She's in the throes of a divorce and upon her move, there was no childcare available near her new home. She makes 25K a year with ten years service.

There are people working really tough jobs every damn day and the do NOT get three months off a year. Plus snow days. And NOW....freaking sniper days. There's many of us out here who must go to work because the bosses don't want to hear we're talking off for the snow or for fear of the sniper. And don't tell me about preparing lessons, grading tests at night. Plenty of us, and I do mean PLENTY of us who toil well after working time, port work home, and toil on our weekends. Raise yer hand them what only work 40 hours a week.

Sure, teachers work hard and at times have a difficult job. But give me any working stiff in the private industry and I guarantee they're working just as hard. This teacher boo-hooing is nought but PR propaganda spun from the offices of yon teacher's union headquarters that we may all lament the poor teacher and give her more money.

"...I, for one, would like a DNA sample, sir, so that you can be cloned."

ITA!!! "a conservative teacher"
It's refreshing to know they exist - and I've met many very dedicated teachers, enough to know they should not all be condemned with one broad stroke.

That's what Liberals do - Not thinking Freepers!

Ponderosa, Steak & Ale, Bennigans, Bonanza all owned by Plano (Dallas), Texas company. Bush country, same as Michaels.

I heard "at the Pondersosa" as well.....

the situation is differant if the note or whatever was found at the woods as opposed to the finding it in the restaurant...

I just can not imagine leaving a note that you want answered in the woods where it would probably not be found until the next day...and it was raining there, so the note might not be very readable after a night outside...

if they found a cell phone....a cheap one .....one that had no other info on it....that could be a possiblity...

frankly, I can not tell you what MY cell phone number is.....or my dtr's....the numbers are already in the phone so I never actually have to punch in numbers....

Ponderosa, Bonanza and Bennigans franchises are part of Metromedia Restaurant Group, Plano, TX. Michael S. Kaufman, President.

Bonanza was previously owned by Sam Wyly, who owns Michael's Arts & Crafts. He sold Bonanza to a holding group in 1989. The Wyly's also currently control Green Mountain energy company.

Interesting -- and there's probably more links, which may or may not be coincidental.

The Washington Times article seems to indicate Gary Bald suervised Linda Franklin. Gary Bald heads up the FBI's sniper investigation. QED.

Wyle brothers are billionair Bush Supporters. HomeDepot is owned by billionair Jewish family from Atlanta, probably also huge Bush supporters. I think the sniper has a Bush supporter list. 4 oil companies too.

Disposable cell phones.

I remember press reports that Bin Laden was using them to evade detection.

Thanks for the response. I am having a hard time believing this guy left this note in the woods, too - but then I'm still not convinced he left that tarot card either. We'll see.

There's a choice. Money, or your kids lives. Hmmmmmm. That's a hard one.

Unless there is a specific threat that we are not privy to it is a complete overreaction. The odds of being the target of this individual(s) are one in the tens of millions. I face more danger every day in commuter traffic on the beltway. It is not about money it is about common sense vs. emotional knee-jerk reactions. Life goes on. We as a society should not shut down because of some whack-job or terrorist (the jury is still out on which it is). Sure, we can be a little more wary of our surroundings and a little more vigilant but we should not hide under our beds because of some statistically imperceptible threat. Children face far more dangers in their everyday routines than from this sniper(s). Children drown in pools all the time - should we fill every pool and fence off and patrol every body of water because some kid might drown?

What kind of message do we want to send to those that wish to do us harm? Part of the reason that 9/11 occurred was because we had a President that had our troops pack up and run from Somalia after the first US casualties (why they were there and the fact that they had no support is another discussion altogether). This emblodened Bin Laden into believing that we were a nation of cowards and would not strike back.

OH how interesting...hmmm...Might this whacko be wanting and attempting to draw out the pres??..Nothing would surprise me since he's been targeting the DC area to send his message to someone..But can't forget that this is all part of a larger plan..

IF he is ..he's not doing it to the same tune as your congessman and that is merely your opinion.

No. Teachers are unionized and support the Democrat party via their union dues.

I pray I'm wrong, too. I hope I've never been more wrong. But it is obvious to me, and others, that this killer is taunting us.

Teachers only work an average of 6 months a year, but get a full years pay for it. They cannot be fired for not teaching, either. Where else in America can you find a job that gives you 6 months off each year and makes that much money? The sad part is - we pay for it.

How can people do that?

I don't know. I happen to agree with you. Just trying to figure out who the neanderthals are per #787?
