Beltway Sniper attempted contact last night !

Very short press conference where he simply states that the Beltway Sniper attempted contact and Chief Moose requested that he call them back.

CNN reported in breaking news earlier this evening that the Moose's message was directed at the sniper

well, if the message was scribbled on a paper found inside the Ponderosa,something like "call 911" then perhaps the Moose just wants this person, a hopeful witness...to just call ....

The media are ASSUMING it is a msg from the spree killer...Moose did not say who the person is..could be someone who saw something, not the shooter....

Considering that one "witness" has been arrested, my guess the message is from a witness. Could be afraid of the police, or could be afraid of the sniper.

Or the message could be from one of the group who wants out and wants to make a deal.

I've been working at our cabin all day and have just recently come home and tried to catch up on the news.

I am assuming that noone has told the press that the message was left in the wooded area. Also, when I heard the message from Moose, he directed his commments to the person who left the message 'at' the Ponderosa - not 'near' the Ponderosa.

I am wondering why the media automatically assumed this message was from the shooter? Has anyone heard a reporter quote sources saying that it was?

No. Just someone who loves her kids. I'm suprised at how many are more concerned about the schools. Putting my kids lives in possible danger for my own freedom is a concept that's beyond my comprehension. How can people do that?
