Just reported. Took place outside of a Ponderosa Steakhouse. Not sure if it is related or not at this time. Police have shut down parts of I-95.

I've been watching the TV coverage for the past 15 minutes on FoxNews and CNN and I have the following question (for authorities):

What the hell are you all doing at the scene! The sniper(s) are long gone from the scene and will not be found there. I see what must be 300 flashing cop cars on the scene just sitting there. How many policemen do you need on the scene to get evidence, eyewitness statements, etc.? Get the cops on the roads to find these guys!

I also have another question. Where the hell is Tom Ridge and his "Homeland Security" team? I'm no fan of expanded government but since we have the extra layer of bureaucracy in place, why aren't we using it? Isn't this kind of thing what the Homeland Security Department was created for? And by the way, that silly-assed color coded terrorism alert system is a complete joke. What color are we on today? Orange? Silver? Beige? Does it even friggin matter!

Richmond has long been on alert... the shootings have been dipping southward every weekend. Manassas and Fredericksburg are not far, with the Richmond area the next major city on 95 south.

I thought I heard CNN report the shooting was an hour and a half ago (??!!). Last Monday, the delay between shooting incident and first report was about 40 minutes.

Maybe they've been instructed by their news directors to downplay this evening's shooting.

Route 1 and Route 54, a shot rang out, no altercation in the parking lot that proceeded this; man in relatively stable condition. Still do not know if shootings are related. It is a "rough" area. (per CNN). This is guerilla warfare imo.

In all fairness, I doubt the police officer who was making 27k a year is a ruling elite. The man probably just didn't want to see a law abiding citizen be harmed by the perp. Let's not go overboard.

Why are the autorities assuming this guy is in a vehicle? he could be on foot and in hiding until all the attention goes away.

He keeps saying "another shooting" - meaning in addition to the ones over the past few days. Poor choice of words, I grant you, but he is not saying anything about a second shooting tonight.
