think maybe the sniper has moved on??

Personally, I doubt it. If I had to bet, I would bet that he is temporarily stymied by the insertion of DOD resources, and is either awaiting instructions, or studying up on how to circumvent those resources.

Polygraphs are bogus and dangerous instruments when in the wrong hands.

This is not terrorism. No one was shot. It was just Janet Reno rampaging with a knife.

i didn't mean, in mine, that something was missing from yours.
clear ? ;-)

and yes, i'd appreciate the link to that exchange, as i've been a buckley fan since i was about this - high.

btw, buckley's written some great spy fiction,
and folks that haven't read it would think it was a different person, stealing buckley's name ...

My understanding is that Mr. Franklin immediately fell on his wife's body to shield her from any more shots.

I doubt he saw anything. His only thought was to protect her.

I think there are stories of dogs following the scent of someone in a moving vehicle, but I was thinking of the perp walking or running.

I definitely remember dogs being put out and that they had found a scent -- I didn't ever find where the trail ended, because I'm assuming 1) If it's hard evidence, the police won't release it (rightfully so), 2) If it was anything else even close I'd hear about it...what happened to those dogs, ultimately? Too lazy to look it up at the moment. ;-)

P.S. Point taken, though -- so even easier: the shooter conceals himself in a bush, is good at getting the rifle out and hidden again (I think this is the most "masterful" part of the crimes so far, if you can call it that -- the speed and efficiency with which the perp is "packed up" completely and gone after a shot), and then probably he just WALKS off, to not draw attention to himself...dunno...I do love coming up with endless theories when there's nothing but circumstantial evidence so far. ;-)

Yep, that's the guy. I saw him again last night on Fox and he had a new haircut and had gotten rid of the leather jacket. He was wearing a polo shirt.

Unless there are more shootings, my guess is, they caught 2 al Qaeda terrorists and are now torturing them for more info (good). But because of PC BS!!!!!! they will never tell us and all of this will go away just like anthrax. (bad)

Could a dog also have a tracked something that was in a moving vehicle, though (playing Devil's Advocate)? I highly doubt it...

There have been several occasions where a dog was able to track the scent of a person that was travelling inside a vehicle. It is unusual, but they can.

If the shooter's using a bike, he better be in really good shape. Lance Armstrong averaged I believe 24MPH for the Tour de France. Some people have done 60MPH or more downhill in CO. Those are on roads. If he's biking in a sewer or dirt, it's going to be much less.

Are there good downhills running away from some of the shooting scenes? Are there nearby bike-friendly areas where the shooter could blend in, such as a university?

With some kind of concealable weapon and a backpak, he looks just like any Tom, Dick or Harry. Johhny Jihad looks like your everyday kid when they cleaned him up.

I believe the sniper is on foot for much of this and he has a spotter watching his back all the way..probably from an adjoining parking lot.

What you see is what you get...If you don't see him, than he is behind something...something you would see evryday if you shopped or gassed up at the scene. We become oblivious to those things.

Ayuh. Ever heard the saying, you only get caught for a crime when you worry about trying to hide it? This guy is RIGHT THERE in every case, I'll bet (and I agree there is most likely a spotter, even though I keep referring to one shooter -- just easier for me that way, I get distracted by bright shiny objects easily, etc :p).

They tell people to look in the direction of the shot if someone gets hit, but I wonder how many people know what a muzzled AR shot sounds like. I know what SOME muzzles sound like, but I've never even seen an AR (somebody fill me in -- it'd still just be a "whump", right?)

Actually, I meant to say she was kindnapped NOT long after HS. We were still about 18.

And we all know Gary Condid "passed" his polygraph. The guy he hired to test him told us so. (At least I thought he was hired, anyone?)

If it "goes away" like anthrax did, I'm officially going out and buying a pyramid hat. Sick of strange coincidences. :-)

I remember reading about the bloodhounds (?) following a scent to the beltway. However, this could have been his approach to the site rather than his escape route, no?

I find it hard to believe he'd escape in that manner (foot or bike).

What's the difference between "hired" and "paid" in Condit's case?

We're pretty certain that they reconned all the sites.

The most likely person to see something "unusual" during their recon would be the "ground maintenance" person.
