Now, in reference to my experience in La Belle, somebody in law enforcement working on the sniper case knows who the perpetrators are right now, right at this moment. Those LEOs have to argue their asses off! I have some questions for you. Do you think the person who knows realizes that he knows for sure already or is he still in the hunch phase? And, in your case, why do you think it took that much time? Was it an evidence issue or did you experience that much resistance to your theories?

Fox reports police has videotape of suspicious activity at one of the shootings; NYP might have at least part of today's article right after all. But police must not be sure enough of the evidence or you'd think they would release a sketch of shooter.

That truck would not be my choice for a fast getaway. It must be going into a garage nearby.
Seems a strange choice all around. I'd want a vehicle as common and nondescript as I could get. These twisted bastards must be wanting to get caught ... eventually.

Steve Emerson's book is a must read for everyone. Next on my list is The Threatening Storm by Kenneth Pollack. It makes the case for why we must invade Iraq and changed the minds of even the soccer moms when Oprah discussed the book and had the author on her show last week.

My husband was wondering if they might be shooting from inside the back of the truck. That way, the shooter would be in the back & the getaway driver takes off as soon as the shot is fired.

Press finally talking about more than one perp and possible terrorist involvement. It's about time.
There must be 1000's of those Isuzu box trucks in and around DC, but not nearly as many as other brands. A quick DMV database search to weed out newer ones and find the ones attached to possible terrorists profiles would take an hour or so. Geography would dictate the best few dozen and then they check them for a dented bumper. Seems easy, and should have done a week ago.

Do you think the person who knows realizes that he knows for sure already or is he still in the hunch phase? It's even worse if the LEO only has a good hunch. My guess in La belle was a hunch because the two young girls were THERE. Everybody else was running around saying, for example, "Who was that Arab-looking man in the white leisure suit?" Also, we were looking into every Arab in Berlin. It turned out one of the 2 German girls was married to a Libyan.

Very likely. Gun port in side.

Not sure if anyone else has posed this question. In the gas station shooting where the state trooper was across the street, why didnt the trooper head for the hillside by the motel where the shot was fired? His instinct may have been to help the victim, but there were many people at that service station. Was this a blunder?

I've noticed the press talking more about possible terrorism, too and am glad they are finally waking people up to the realities of what we could be facing - either with this sniper or in the future. If the truck is a delivery truck used in a legitimate business, you'd think the business-owner would have come forward by now, so I'm starting to discount that as a theory of mine.

Thanks for the link to the NYP article; my linking skills seem to be sadly lacking.

I haven't seen that question posed and it's a good one, although it's probably instinct to get to the victim to provide experienced help. Perhaps LEO's will address this with each other - they can call for help in future and head in the direction of shots instead.

If the shooter is a terrorist operative, shooting people during the work week falls in line with the call to attack the American economy, maybe.

Many used ones and leased ones on the market. Easy and cheap to get. And, remember yesterday we were looking for a Chevy Astro Van with a ladder on top. Very different vehicle.
The "club" maybe, spent the weekend painting their vehicle.

The first week: 1 hit on Wed, 5 on Thurs and 1 on Friday
The second week: 1 hit on Monday, 1 hit on Wednesday, 1 hit on Friday.
The Friday hits of both weeks were in the Fredericksburg area.
Looks so far like the weekend is for food, rest and assessing the action for the next week and safe harbor and chief planners are near Fredericksburg.
In a week or so, we will turn our clocks back.
They may just stop the operation entirely since our internal clocks get messed up for a couple of weeks.
The "odd" hit out was October 4th in Fredericksburg at 2:30 PM. All others were 6-10 ignoring AM or PM.

His instinct may have been to help the victim, but there were many people at that service station. Was this a blunder? I had this thought too. Traffic cops aren't the most courageous type because they're usually dealing with common motorists---I would have headed towards that hill with my gun blazing!
To: John Jamieson
Yes, they are easy and cheap to get. Also, on FR saw a few posts about an auction at which several Arabs bought many vehicles. Maybe it's harder to trace cars/trucks bought at auction. I'd be surprised if shooter(s) didn't change vehicles or paint truck after release of this graphic.
