NEWSFLASH: Another shooting, approx. 9 AM, this time near Fredericksburg

I work in a newsroom in Fredericksburg, and they heard on the police scanner that a person has been shot at a gas station at "Four Mile Fork" which is a neighborhood just south of the City of Fredericksburg.

No details yet, but I wanted to let y'all know -- and keep up the tradition of FReepers getting news first.

Pray for the victim, and pray that this is a random shooting, and that this monster's terror has not widened yet again.

Can someone update me on the van that was seen sideswiping cars while leaving the scene? Is this real or bogus? How could this not be related to the shooting, even if a decoy?

FNC is reporting that "one of the vans" that was stopped has been released. Didn't hear them say it had "Total Recall" on the side, but I assume they have pulled over several white panel vans over the past 2 hours ...

What if the white van is a decoy, and the shooter is driving a darker, nondescript type vehicle.

If they are ATF or swat team guys, they want to hide their identity (operating under the assumption that the feds and cops know way more than we do).

i don't think gas pump jockeys are union in Oregon... it's just a socialist redistribution thing to give minimum wage make-work jobs to young socialists, but i'm pinging a couple folks who would know for sure. i do know you can't pump your own gas there.

well, if that's the case (they let a Total Recall) person go and actually MISSED the sniper...they would have an ability to check out Total Recall personel etc

I would imagine they are looking at their employees (or would hope they are)

One of the cable TV channels had an eyewitness from across the street than said he did, in fact, hear a single bullet fired and a white van pull away that "bumped" into other cars driving away ...

Did anyone else notice the amazingly rag-tag look of the law enforcement people doing the checks. There are a bunch of them wearing baseball caps backwards, no sign of a uniform. Even worse several are wearing black "robber" masks. I can not understand why in the world there is any need for law enforcment professionals to hide their faces from their employers. It sickens me this is catching on as a trend. The male host on MS-NBC asked the on scene news babe "why the masks" and got a bubble headed answer.
