Did anyone else notice the amazingly rag-tag look of the law enforcement people doing the checks. There are a bunch of them wearing baseball caps backwards, no sign of a uniform. Even worse several are wearing black "robber" masks. I can not understand why in the world there is any need for law enforcment professionals to hide their faces from their employers. It sickens me this is catching on as a trend. The male host on MS-NBC asked the on scene news babe "why the masks" and got a bubble headed answer.
Showing this now on MS-NBC.

This is just a guess, but they probably called in police that were not on duty, hence the civilian clothes. The masks (and this is a big guess) may be to hide the faces of those who have to do undercover work. They have probably mobilized the whole police force for this.

Some of the Policemen might work undercover and getting their picture on TV or in the newspaper might not be healthy.
Self preservation for some.

Maybe the LE officers are wearing masks to keep the rain off their faces (its raining everywhere here on the East Coast.)
