I work in a newsroom in Fredericksburg, and they heard on the police scanner that a person has been shot at a gas station at "Four Mile Fork" which is a neighborhood just south of the City of Fredericksburg.
No details yet, but I wanted to let y'all know -- and keep up the tradition of FReepers getting news first.
Pray for the victim, and pray that this is a random shooting, and that this monster's terror has not widened yet again.

you are correct about Oregon. no self-pump gas

But they have operations over there--did a search a week or two ago (before the shootings started). They have a big lawsuit against them by Indonesia/Maylasia workers who claim they're not protecting them from local soldiers.

MSNBC showing police? shooters with black hoods (balaclavas) on. It's not very cold today. What's that about. It makes them look scary OR, it's standard uniform issue and they have to wear them OR there are lots of mosquitos and this helps prevent bites around the neck area protected the oficers from West Nile Virus because DDT was banned based on junk science and the politicians are too afraid to allow it back on the market because.......

It has been well over 2 hours... I am not confident they are going to catch the perp(s) today.

If this happened almost two hours ago, the chances of this guy being caught at a funnel point is getting more remote by the minute....
Bet by 2pm eastern time the road blocks end....

Is it just me or do the talking heads on TV sound a little more frantic this morning?

yeah. i heard geraldo. was waiting for him to hear that he has a gun, and heavily armed local bodyguards, and plans to kill the sniper himself. didn't say it, though, so i guess he hasn't had his second cup of coffee or whatever he uses to get awake.

Are the pump jockeys unionized in Oregon?
To: Oldeconomybuyer
FNC - Geraldo on the scene!!! Actually, Geraldo did his weekend show on this and he was the first person in the media to attempt to use the "T" word in his coverage.

All of the newscasts I have seen are lamenting the fact that white vans are so common. OH the horror...If the Hildabeast was prez she'd be sure to pass a law prohibiting cars from having any color other than (crusty) black.
To: All
Did anyone just hear on fox..
The van with the words "total recall" had been stopped and then let go?
To: BADROTOFINGER
That's exactly what I think....if that's the case the shooter is long gone.

What's with all these weird gas=pumping laws? Why on earth would anyone mandate for no pump latches?
I mean, its not like it prevents gas spills, in fact, I think it would increase them. Having the latch snap off tells me when my tank is full. Although I confess one of my cars has to be watched carefully because the latch doesn't snap off....but I pay for that because the pump starts siphoning the gas back into it if I neglect to watch it.
