I work in a newsroom in Fredericksburg, and they heard on the police scanner that a person has been shot at a gas station at "Four Mile Fork" which is a neighborhood just south of the City of Fredericksburg.
No details yet, but I wanted to let y'all know -- and keep up the tradition of FReepers getting news first.
Pray for the victim, and pray that this is a random shooting, and that this monster's terror has not widened yet again.

I didn't notice that. I still want to know how many white vans have been reported stolen. I bet that information will not be released.

and you know this how?

"while the perp (who could be as far away as a mile) would not appear on camera."
No, no, no. Better chance of getting hit by lightning than by a .223 from a mile away.

Yes, this is unbelievable....I just got home from the hospital(same day surgery) and I am confined to my recliner for several days....

To avoid Washington traffic when I lived in the area, I would cross 301 into Maryland. That takes you right through Bowie on the way to Rockville. Of course that doesn't explain the Manassas shooting. In other words the perp doesn't have to take 95 back to MD.

It appears this accident was due to fog. It is a horrific scene. Many fatalities, blue tarps covering vehicles.

Do you have ANY idea how much DATA this would entail? It is all cataloged and it involves a limited geographic area in this case. The image analysts deal with this stuff every day and it is totally computerized. Just what, in your mind, does the amount of data have to do with solving these crimes?
Get real and quit spouting this nonsense ...
Just what do you think we should do with those images if they exist and can be helpful? Get a life, buddy.

Weather here today is very marginal - tough to fly, even in a helicopter. Then it might be why another attack took place today. Thanks for the info. Weather conditions worse for the police than for the perps????

Im starting to get a sneaky suspicion that the white van maybe a decoy. You know, let
team 1 set up for the shot and a super clean team 2 goes and parks close by the victim.
after the shot they just drive away ..reinforcing the clue that a white van is the perps
auto... if their stopped theyre clean... In the mean time the shooter/shooting team gets
away......

Awful to say, but when they find this creep, I hope it's part of an al queda or other sleeper cell.

The wierdest sight I ever saw was coming out of Phoenix one day. We were just passing the offramp to the nuclear power plant and 14 identical white vans were entering the highway. They all took different routes. Looked like the largest "follow the queen" game I have ever seen.
But, back to todays events, white vans are so ubiquitous that they are perfect for these things. Especially given the number of GSA vehicle in the area.

Victim was a male, and was pumping gas........

Everyone is assuming these are long-range shots, but there have been at least 2 reports now of witnesses seeing this white van pulling away quickly from the scene. It'd be hard to see that if the van was a mile or even 200 yards away. Assuming, of course, that the "white van" reports are somewhat accurate.

The solution is clear... Eliminate Fossil Fuel !!! All other minerals are found as deposits within the crust of the earth dating back to the time of it's formation - except carbon-based fuels?
Not according to Thomas Gold, author of the book "The Deep, Hot Biosphere" ...

Why are they checking vehicles 40-miles away at the "mixing bowl"?...They must think the shooter's heading home, in a hurry, to Montgomery County, VA. You almost have to go through the mixing bowl to get there.

Thanks! There is a local NBC station tower probably only about a mile from my office. Can't even get a decent tv signal from them, with a fancy booster antenna! I work late every night and I'd like to be able to at least catch some of the news, even if it's NBC.

Be nice about Michelle Malkin, she is probably just not informed. She is conservatve, pro-freedom, and really pretty.
