NEWSFLASH: Another shooting, approx. 9 AM, this time near Fredericksburg

I work in a newsroom in Fredericksburg, and they heard on the police scanner that a person has been shot at a gas station at "Four Mile Fork" which is a neighborhood just south of the City of Fredericksburg.

No details yet, but I wanted to let y'all know -- and keep up the tradition of FReepers getting news first.

Pray for the victim, and pray that this is a random shooting, and that this monster's terror has not widened yet again.

Black <-> White pattern being established?

Wed. - White
Mon. - Black
Friday - White Woman (?)(let me know if she was white)
Thur. - Black (last victim on rampage that day in DC)
Thur. - (initial killing spree with little time to think)

Seems like there is a Black-White pattern of killing being
established (with time to think)after the SPREE killing on Thursday in which he selected targets as quickly as possible.

The initial SPREE killings was made so he could get Media and police attention quickly. Now that he has the attention he can be selective with time and place.

Depends on your definition of minorities. At least 2 black males, one of which was a teen. An elderly "white?" female. A white middle aged man died yesterday. That's all I can remember.

I wonder if they went after the black man today, because the teenager survived?

For those thinking that only old people have been killed, the one woman was 25. Not exactly old.

My opinion is that of course it's "terrorism" in the sense that it strikes terror into people, but at the moment I'm not privy to any high-level ATF/FBI/state/local police information that informs me this is somehow linked to Saddam or al Qaeda actions. It could be, sure, but it could also be a Wiccan nut with a Tarot deck on the run. Or none of the above. I'm just saying, the safest option at the moment is to keep an open mind about *all* the possibilities and not leap to "terrorism" immediately. People get killed every day in violent, random acts that don't make the headlines. Let's just keep perspective, etc.

At least some of the dogs are probably looking for the perp, thinking he may come back later to gloat. They would have gotten the scent from the tarot card or the matted grass.

There's another reason for the dogs. It is possible the "perp" as everyone likes to call him, doesn't leave at all. There are always lots of bystanders and curiosity seekers. There is always the possibility, that like arsonists that like to be in the crowd observing their work, the "perp" just melts into the crowd.

If they have his scent, the dogs just might pick him up. This is evidently not the case here, but I'm sure that's one of the reasons for the dogs.

If you are right about the victims'race and order, the pattern you mention is certainly interesting. Don't have time to check right now though.
