I work in a newsroom in Fredericksburg, and they heard on the police scanner that a person has been shot at a gas station at "Four Mile Fork" which is a neighborhood just south of the City of Fredericksburg.
No details yet, but I wanted to let y'all know -- and keep up the tradition of FReepers getting news first.
Pray for the victim, and pray that this is a random shooting, and that this monster's terror has not widened yet again.

Police Investigate Shooting At Fredericksburg Gas Station
Authorities Looking for White Chevy Astrovan
POSTED: 10:04 a.m. EDT October 11, 2002
Fredericksburg, Va. -- Virginia State Police confirm that, at about 9:40 a.m. Friday, there was a shooting at the Four Mile Fork Exxon gas station. It is located at Route 1 and Interstate 95 in Fredericksburg.
Police are looking for the white van with a ladder rack that was last seen heading northbound on Route 1.
Nothing else known at this time.

You poor thing. I know how miserable those florescent lights are. I have banned them in my office area, but the wonderful thing was, my assistant thanked me because they made her head ache, too. We have several table lamps in both of our offices now, and the anteroom is dark. Occasionally we get comments from visitors about working in a cave, but I don't have headaches anymore, my eyes are normal, and (this probably psychological) I just feel better.

Thanks so much to all of you for the updates, from a cable challenged FReeper. And I was just going to stop FReeping for the day. Well, I can't now... I pray today is the day they catch them (dead)!

SOunds like a drive by type shooting. Witness says the van was at a stop light, he heard a shot and the van took off. Witness thought shot was timed just before the light changed. Massaponax, thanks alot. I'll never missspell it again.

What is "WTOP"?

Was there any report on the shooter jumping in the van ?
Same thing happened in the Manassas shooting. A white van was found finally and was a dead end.

If it turns out to be a Mid East terrorist, it is better to let him rot in jail for the rest of his life so the Islamfanatics cant talk about his meeting Allah. And then I would put him on life support for an additional 50 years.
