The day the committee gave the prize to Arafat is the day the prize wasn't such a "prize". It should have been Rudy, Dubya, Tony as a trio but the committee has chosen to award an appeaser like ole Carter, who history will not view favorably.

Well, that just made the prize less important to future and past winners.

No mean feat, as its value was just about nil already.

Katrine Sorland (left), and Hege Hatlo (right) won the titles of Miss Norway World and Miss Norway Universe respectively, during the Froken Norge finals held last sunday, hosted by Miss Universe 1990 Mona Grudt.

Of course Clinton will receive the Nobel Peace prize for his tireless efforts in ending the Cold War, for his bringing about peace in the Middle East and Northern Ireland, for his ending the conflicts in the Balkans, for ending the desperation of life in Haiti caused by tyranical leaders, for putting an end to the terror emerging from the death factories of Sudan, and for his incredible superhuman ability to tolerate his marriage to that permanent menstrual senator for over 25 years.

For those of you in Rio Linda, this was sarcasm. Except for that last one. Hell Clinton may be the greatest man of our times for tolerating that bitch.

Nobel Peace Prizes:

1990 -- MIKHAIL SERGEYEVICH GORBACHEV , President of the USSR, helped to bring the Cold War to an end.

Yeah,.... by being defeated by Ronald Reagan.

My thoughts exactly when I heard this. He has been doing nothing but lobbying for this for the past decade. Now maybe he will shut up and sit down.

He's been after this award for twenty years. Now that he's finally won it, maybe he'll go away.

Hey, why not give one to X42 also?

The Nobel " peace prize " is now a joke.

Nah, it's been a joke for quite some time. (At least since Arafat won it.)

However, it should now be officially retitled the Nobel "Piece of S---" prize.

Well, nice to see Jimmah gets a legacy other than 21% interest rates, 13% inflation, malaise, lust, killer bunny rabbits, the Iran hostage crisis, Desert One, boycotting the 1980 Olympics, Afghanistan, and pardoning draft dodgers.

Now shut up and hand me some more nails, would ya Jimmah?

And did you notice the little dig that the Nobel committee threw in there? Heck, W could pull off a bloodless regime change in Iraq using the CIA (not that I think it'll happen) and they'd probably give the Peace Price to friggin' Kofi Annan--or Saddam posthumously.

Idiots.

Oh, please.

They must have figured they had to give it to someone. He's been campaigning for it for years.

But I don't see how anything he did in or out of office contributed to peace.

To everyone: IMHO, the awarding of the Nobel Peace Prize to Jimmy Carter is nothing more than an in-your-face to President Bush. The Nobel committee is just telling Bush they disapprove of his moves toward war with Iraq and what horrible things he has done to civilians in Afghanistan. In a way, they are warning him (and presumably all those in the US who ever want to be considered for one of their prizes) that if he does this, he will never be considered for the prize.

They would have given it to Clinton, but he is too close to his stain. Another 10 years of him going around telling everyone how great he was and they will give one to him, too.

By the way, this is more than just getting a statue - there is a $1 million prize to go with it.
