October 10, 2002 -- Cops were examining the Psycho Sniper's tarot death card with the mocking words, "Dear policeman, I am God" - amid fears the killer may have struck again last night.

Detectives from the sniper task force rushed to Manassas, Va., where a man was shot to death at a Sunoco station.

Also, from info as I understand it...the tarot card, and shell caseing were only found at the one crime scene.(13 yo school boy).

If that is true, (and no shell/or message) is found at this latest scene, then you most likely have a copycat out there too.

Police believe the madman they're hunting may be a deranged Vietnam War buff or veteran because of the chilling calling card found in woods 150 yards from where he wounded a 13-year-old boy Monday.

Boy, now there's a flash from the past! I haven't seen the media drag out the old "deranged Vietnam veteran" canard in quite some time.

The tarot card, experts say, bears a striking similarity to the ace-of-spades death cards American soldiers sometimes left on the bodies of slain Viet Cong.

Only insofar as they were both cards. I'm not sure what kind of "experts" are saying this, it would seem that if this shooter was trying to project that image, he'd use the Ace of Spades.

During the Vietnam War, some soldiers put death cards in the mouths of the slain enemy; others nailed the cards to the foreheads, and still others dropped them from the air.

Airborne used the "Ace of Spades", I don't know about the snipers. From what I understand, they didn't stick around after the fact, they'd "shoot and scoot" because they were usually deep in enemy territory with only one guy for security backup.

The phrasing and improper word choice, to me, indicates that English is a second langauge for whoever wrote this. That, and the fact that two men were witnessed in the white van, indicates to me that this is terrorism.

About 5:20 pm Wednesday: window shot out at Michael's store in Northgate Shopping Center. no one injured.

About 6 pm Wednesday:Jim Martin, 55 year old White male shot at Shoppers Food Warehouse parking lot in 2200 block of Randolph Road (Glenmont Shopping Center). a program coordinator with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, a top notch professional and history buff with a unique sense of humor. Martin spearheaded the office adoption of a DC elementary school.

7:41 am Thursday: James L. Buchanan, a 39-year-old white male landscaper . Man shot while mowing a lawn at 11411 Rockville Pike (White Flint near intersection with Nicholson Lane (in front of Bryant Automobile?). Buchanan was identified as the son of a retired Montgomery County police officer.

8:10 am Thursday: Premkumar Walekar, 54, Indian from India was shot dead as he made his daily stop at a Silver Spring Mobil gas station. The cab driver from India leaves behind a wife, a daughter, and a son. Male cab driver shot while filling up at a Mobil station at the intersection of Aspen Hill Road and Connecticut Avenue. This guy worked for presidential cab.

8:37 am Thursday: Sarah Ramos, 34, of Silver Spring , Hispanic woman shot in head sitting on bench outside of the United States Post Office next to the Leisure World Retirement community in Silver Spring (on Rossmoor Road).a witness reported seeing a white van or truck speed from the post office parking lot.

9:58 am Thursday:Lori Lewis Rivera-- 25-year-old Lori Lewis Rivera white female who was gunned down while vacuuming her minivan at a gas station in Kensington Thursday morning. Woman shot in head at the Shell gas station at the intersection of Connecticut Ave and Knowles in Kensington.

9:15 pm Thursday: Pascal Charlot, 72, african american of Washington, DC, killed while standing on a street in the nation's capital. In Northwest Washington, The 72-year-old Northwest man was standing on Georgia Avenue just inside the distrcit line when he was struck by a sniper's bullet.

Michael's craft store-- On Friday afternoon, a 43-year-old woman (race unknown?) who had been loading purchases from a Michaels craft store in Fredericksburg, Virginia, was hit by a bullet that pierced her lower back, exited her chest and came to rest inside her Toyota minivan. She was in stable condition Sunday in a Fairfax hospital.

Tasker Middle school At 8:09 a.m. Monday, a 13-year-old boy (race unknown)was shot and critically wounded outside a middle school in Maryland's Prince George's County.

The initial phrase - "Dear policeman" - first of all, most American users would use plural ("policemen" instead of "policeman"), and most people would use slang ("cops" instead of "policeman") - since slang is difficult for foreign speakers to accomodate, I would give high odds that the person who wrote this is not a native-born American, but a recent arrival.

That's a friggin misstatement Johnny HK. No one, no one I know, is saying it *has* to be muslim murderers. We are just stating what should be obvious to any in these times. That the murders are likely the work of terrorist muderers killing in the name of allah. A nutcase killer is also a possibility, but concerns for public safety in war -- a war which we are in, like it not -- means a muslim terror cell or muslim-aligned lone wolf have to be top possibilities.

On the grounds that the odds of 2 ordinary whacko men just happening to meet up and carrying on this well-planned, well-executed "rampage" without making any mistakes or decompensation would have to be extremely small.

If this killer is homegrown, he is likely a lone wolf psychotic (paranoid schizophrenic, perhaps)--another Ted Kasczinski, just cunning enough to keep from getting easily caught. If the reports are accurate that two men are involved, it is unlikely they are homegrown or psychotic. It is far more likely they are foreign-born and trained terrorists--terribly evil but not psychotic.

Have you tried to give this info to the police? They might already have this theory and are sitting on it, trying to anticipate snipe's next move.
