October 10, 2002 -- Cops were examining the Psycho Sniper's tarot death card with the mocking words, "Dear policeman, I am God" - amid fears the killer may have struck again last night.

Detectives from the sniper task force rushed to Manassas, Va., where a man was shot to death at a Sunoco station.

What was the media source that reported the news leak? I'd like to write a letter to them, explaining what giant heaps of human refuse they are. Not much better than the "sniper", in my opinion.

Supposedly channel 9 contacted Moose and said that unless he gave them a good reason for not going with the story, that they were going to go with it. Again, supposedly they tried a couple of times to get a reason from him, as to why they should not run it. They heard nothing back and so they ran it.

Nice huh? I don't suppose it occured to them that he might be a bit busy!

BTW, if the two men seen driving away are the sniper and cohort, the tarot card/homegrown whacko distraction is smoke and mirrors.

It's new in the Washington Post in the last couple hours....article states that there was a request also written on the Tarot Card that it not be revealed to the media.

Of course, the "It has to be Islamic Terrorists" crowd won't like that....you really have to stretch to imagine a scenario where the terrorist doesn't want his taunting revealed to the media.

WUSA-TV 9 News in Washington, D.C. reported in its 11 p.m. broadcast that police found a tarot card and a note to police at the scene of yesterday's sniper shooting of a 13 year old boy at Tasker Middle School in Bowie, Md.

The tarot card was the 'Death' card. The message said, 'Dear policemen, I am God."

Seems about 100 times more likely that if something in this case is smoke and mirrors, it's the white trucks, not the tarot card.

The chance the card was a hoax was always slim in the first place, and that the card had a message about not revealing it to the media I think that reduces the hoax chance to about zero.

And it's still unclear whether there was a white truck with two men in it at the Manassas scene or whether that was just carryover from the (single witness) sighting in Montgomery County. NO ONE has seen ANYONE shooting from a truck.

As I pointed out in the "big" thread, there's ALWAYS going to be a white truck, SUV, or van at EVERY one of these shootings when they're near a busy intersection.

Thanks for your answer, but I'm afraid I still have questions. When the media requested a valid reason for not publishing the tarot card find, why didn't Moose or whoever was responsible, explain the killer's specific request not to publish?

I think that the request to not tell the media was just another way of mocking. He wants the investigators to feel that he has more control than they do.

He's vulnerable, though. His need for being perceived as being in control is his weak point. It will get him caught.
