Vietnam vets say snipers who led U.S. search-and-destroy missions were said to be "taking God's view" when they took up positions in high ground - which makes the God reference in the killer's taunting note doubly suspicious.



This fits in with the Bill Paxton sniper character in the movie Navy Seals code-named God.

We called our battalion sniper God- just normal mechanized infantry.

So the snipe is a movie-goer, and "Navy Seals" is the next "Taxi-Driver".
