I've seen quite a few leo's here in Illinois getting their heavy artillery that they (unoficially) carry in the trunk cleaned & sighted in in the last week.

Even though the current problem is in the DC area, I think everyone is getting nervous.

No way, it is definitely related. Few people are stupid enough to risk everything to pull a stunt like this. This is the 2nd shotgun shooting attempt today. The murderer changed guns, that should hardly be surprising. MO is too similar.

1. He's not really a sniper -- He's just a common killer. Real snipers have people shooting back. 2. If his objective is terror, through one-shot kills, a shotgun fits into his plans. 3. What he is doing, shooting civilians one at a time, could be done by any ordinary, dedicated terrorist.

I was commenting more on the media referring to it as a sniping and then saying it was a shotgun. It may be the same killer but with a shotgun its not a sniping really.

The killer might be trying to refute the "coward" statements by police and the governor yesterday if its the same guy.

Shooting in Prince William County

9 News has learned that an adult male was shot and killed Wednesday night at a Sunoco gas station at I-66 and Sudley road in Prince William County. 9 News has also learned that Montgomery County police are aware of the shooting and are sending a team of investigators to determine if it is related to the series of sniper attacks that have occurred around our region. Officials tell 9 News it is too early to tell if this shooting is linked.

A Virginia State Police spokeswoman says two men were seen driving away in a white vehicle after the shooting. She also said police were interviewing possible witnesses.

Also Wednesday, a man who was shooting a gun inside his home in Kensington, Maryland is in police custody. Montgomery County Police Chief Charles Moose says someone in the house called police shortly after 4 pm.

When officers got there, they found a man leaving the house. The man was taken into custody and is being questioned. Police say the man had several weapons in the house, and ammunition was found in the walls of the home.

Moose says the man has had prior contact with county police. Moose says it's too early to tell if this arrest is linked to the rash of sniper shootings in the area.
