9 News has learned that an adult male was shot and killed Wednesday night at a Sunoco gas station at I-66 and Sudley road in Prince William County. 9 News has also learned that Montgomery County police are aware of the shooting and are sending a team of investigators to determine if it is related to the series of sniper attacks that have occurred around our region. Officials tell 9 News it is too early to tell if this shooting is linked.
A Virginia State Police spokeswoman says two men were seen driving away in a white vehicle after the shooting. She also said police were interviewing possible witnesses.
Also Wednesday, a man who was shooting a gun inside his home in Kensington, Maryland is in police custody. Montgomery County Police Chief Charles Moose says someone in the house called police shortly after 4 pm.
When officers got there, they found a man leaving the house. The man was taken into custody and is being questioned. Police say the man had several weapons in the house, and ammunition was found in the walls of the home.
Moose says the man has had prior contact with county police. Moose says it's too early to tell if this arrest is linked to the rash of sniper shootings in the area.
