You did not mention Islamic Fundamentalist terrorist. . . . . .or maybe that is your point? That was exactly the point. Other explanations do not fit with what we are seeing.

Also, go to www.packing.org for each States concealed carry laws and requirements.

With all the hits and possible knowns (views, trajectory etc), they ust know something.
They have NOT really confirmed the use of a vehicle (drive by shootings) and we're assuming that.
Would the sniper have "powder residue on him??". If he was taking the shot from a "ground setup", would there be residue?? Can a dog pick it up??
I know its pushing it but I think the guy is "mostly" on foot.
Is there a college in the circle around the early hits??

There is a Terminal Control Area around National, Dulles, & BWI but ATC could surely help in keep ing the helos safely separated. NO fly areas = Congress, White house....

One thought before I dash off to work (was waiting to see if there were other shootings as downtown D.C. is twenty minutes from Bowie.)
By only shooting one victim with one shot, the shooter is not giving investigators the chance to triangulate where the shots are coming from. The cat and mouse game with the cops continues :-(
To: Sender; Travis McGee
I agree that many recreational shooters could hit these targets. What the media seems to be missing as Sender says, who WOULD do this. Travis may be on to something about the Palestinians, but I just don't think so. They don't seem to have the requisite intelligence and they seem to have the need to either get caught and proclaim their faith or become martyrs. I still think this guy has to be one of a handful of assassins that could pull this off.
Then again, maybe I read too much pulp fiction.
Either way this is definitely coming from the muslims.

I'm glad you explained, I didn't get the sarcasm. Maybe I should get another cup of coffee. No problem. It is a tough morning for us all.

Thats good news. Maybe the kid saw something. Hopefully he can provide some clues as to what this NUTJOB looks like.

Perhaps picking out say 10 prime areas in the DC area that would appeal to this Sicko (good cover/easy get away routes) and literally shut down all traffic with roadblocks and do a car to car search on everybody. Yes, it would take one helluva lot of cops to do this but it could trap the killers and flush em out in the open. Entirely warranted at this point. Bring out the National Guard if that's what it takes.
Just a thought. How do we know its not someone you would trust like a police officer or a security guard. Take the shot then show up at the scene.

"I can only speak for myself here, but I thank God for mothers/aunts like this one for choosing to walk their child to school. " So... he targeted the child instead of the aunt.

Not if their point is to simply sow the seeds of terror and confusion and fear and avoid for as long as possible us knowing that it is in fact terrorists. IOW, if they were taking advantage of our confusion as long as they can.
But, this is just my opinion, I am certainly not ready to say that it is yet.

Shootings at strip malls would hurt the economy when people stop going to the malls. Who knows what may be next? Just an observation.

Good luck with you firearms training when facing a hidden sniper. Some of you people need to watch some old footage from Sarajevo. Sniper is the number 1 low budget high terror tool for the enemy to utilize. Almost as cheap and effective as hijacking a plane and turning it into a missile. They won't catch these guys and if they do, these guys will whack themselves rather than be taken alive. They could be from Columbia or Baghdad or Damascus or Detroit. They are pissed at the US government (hence the DC angle) and are going about their task with great efficiency. Definitely a terrorist.

I get flamed sometimes simply because I'm "floriduh". I think the local law enforcement is handling the media as far as the investigation goes. Beyond that, I think you know what I'm sayin'. I don't want to tip anybody off here.

The police have continually emphasized that the schools are safe since the beginning of the killing spree. That statement was so irresponsible. And don't tell me hindsight. To come out and say the schools are safe was soooo very dumb. How are *we*, the silly public, supposed to believe anything the LE's say in the future?
Though the point that it's a possibility that the targeting of a school was a direction retaliation to that statement is an intriguing one.

Yup. It may be time to get the media to help set up a situation. (false info, if you know what I mean.) Good point. It may be possible to steer this Sicko into a trap by suggesting his new target.
