But it also seems like osama's terrorists are into BIG distruction. This seems small..one bullet, one victim at a time. Doesn't seem to fit the profile of osama's terrorists.

I doubt they know the prayer, but you could say it's aimed directly at them. My mother always used to say it in times of danger...such as this one.

That said, I think the Michael's connection was a matter of unfinished business: they missed on the first try, and the victim on the second try will apparently survive -- so I would not be going to a Michael's in that area until this guy is caught.

The police have continually emphasized that the schools are safe since the beginning of the killing spree.

Irresponsible mistake. It was an open invitation IMO. I thought I read that immediately after the first couple of shootings that the Secret Service was involved. I don't understand why the feds didn't take this case early on. This should have been taken very seriously, especially in light of the threats on American schools.

IMHO, you should do those things anyway.

We have five kids three now out of the house. All of them know how to shoot and how to do so responsibly.

But remember this at all times, guns are not safe, they are not meant to be. Never, for a second, let yourself or any one in your household, think they are.

At the same time, having the right and the capability and the will to defend one's self is, next to faith in God, the bedrock American tradition. It is what these terrorists here operating on our soil are ultimately going to run up against if they keep pusing it. It is also what our own control freeks and gun grabbers will one day run up against if they keep trying to disarm us and keep us from defending ourselves.

No one is "convinced". People on the list are discussing and speculating as to what might be the most reasonable source of the shootings as we are ALL FREE TO DO.

It is my understanding that the mother drove her son to school. After he was shot, she drove him to the hospital. Can you just imagine that happening? My prayers go out for the child and his family.

You're right though. This is indeed difficult for law enforcement. It just gets to me that they won't even mention terrorists as a possibility.

Going after a school where NSA employees have kids puts a very limited focus on who it could be

I can only speak for myself here, but I thank God for mothers/aunts like this one for choosing to walk their child to school. Thirteen years old is still not an adult, even if society wants to think it is.

In Israel, very few of the terrorist victims are army or police or anyone associated with the government.

The point of terrorism is precisely to be random, inclusive, and to frighten everyone, especially civilians.

That's what is going on here, IMHO.

It isn't big enough yet to generate certainty that it's Muslim terrorism, but that's what I'd guess it is.

And if it is, its certain to cause a backlash of some significant kind.
