All weekend the police were on the TV saying how the schools are safe, even that they would be allowing outside recess today!

The police have continually emphasized that the schools are safe since the beginning of the killing spree. Seems that the Evil SOB(s) involved here took a cue from this. As an ex-FBI profiler said today, the sniper is saying "In Your Face".

The LEOs need to start thinking of taking some novel, if not drastic measures. They have to focus more on anticipating the next likely targets, especially with respect to timing. Perhaps picking out say 10 prime areas in the DC area that would appeal to this Sicko (good cover/easy get away routes) and literally shut down all traffic with roadblocks and do a car to car search on everybody. Yes, it would take one helluva lot of cops to do this but it could trap the killers and flush em out in the open.

I absolutely think the mother did the right thing. She did exactly what I would do. I commend her for clear thinking in a crisis, taking her child immediately to a very close medical facility.

I don't think any law enforcement is prepared to deal with this guy. I mean,what do you do? There aren't enough cops in the country to stake out every place this guy could shoot from. Now I do wonder, the child was 13, was his mother walking him into school? Do parents do that for a 13 year old? That is curious and makes me wonder if indeed this may be unrelated.

Right now, but not right as it happened. Two shots to the kid, why not one to the mother. Next thing they may try is to pick off law enforcement responding to the call.

I've been listening to this idiot. Fox could certainly do better than this.

Here's what we know.....the shootings have occurred at ALL hours of the day...from 8 am to 9 pm (the DC victim). The perp has to be someone not employed or obligated to school or anything. Unless there is more than one perp, a possibility.

NO SHOOTINGS have occurred on the weekend. Which means what I don't know. By the way, I recently had occasion to report a huge white cube truck to the Baltimore county police. The 911 respondent even made me go around behind the truck and give him the license plate. Happened recently, the Jewish Yom Kippur holiday in fact. I was reporting a mysterious package left in front of a Jewish store that was closed for the day. Interesting story I'll tell y'all about some time. I reported that big white cube truck because it was parked directly in front of the weird package. I often think about this truck and the constant reports of a big white cube truck possibly involved with these shootings. I sit out here in la-la land and wonder if I should phone in my observation of this unusual truck to the tip line.

Bowie is mostly white (compared to the rest of the county) and mostly upper-middle class to lower-rich class. Most of the Republican support in the county comes from Bowie. Lots of nice places to go in the city, low crime, $400,000 houses. Tasker is one of two middle schools in the city. The city has no police force, and relies on the county. Bowie, and this part in particular, is the richest area in the county. In recent years the MD 197/US 50 interchange has been heavily developed.

Annapolis and DC are about 20 minutes away in opposite directions, alond US 50. US 301/MD 3 is about .5 miles away, and MD 3 turns into I-97 about 4 miles north of the school. Baltimore is 30 minutes to the north by 3/97. The county seat is 15 minutes to the south.

I don't know much about this Chief, but lets not jump to conclusions.

Just heard on WMAL: Montgomery County (or was it all of Maryland?) is canceling all afternoon kindergarten and prekindergarten today. So why are the other grades still having afternoon classes?

mothers (in public schools) are more protective over their little ones. They're right there to battle the schools if anyone comes near their "baby." (They're still babies to them.) As the kids grow, mothers get used to them being away all day. I guess.
