I don't think any law enforcement is prepared to deal with this guy. I mean, what do you do? There aren't enough cops in the country to stake out every place this guy could shoot from. Now I do wonder, the child was 13, was his mother walking him into school? Do parents do that for a 13 year old? That is curious and makes me wonder if indeed this may be unrelated.

I think they do it when they think there is a serious danger that the child may be shot. This sniper is showing that, even then, he can shoot and get away with it.

Two answers - first, if you're concerned about your child's safety, then yes, and secondly, if you have business at the school at the same time (talking to a teacher, et. al.), then also the answer is yes. I've done the latter with both my school age children plenty of times. This didn't seem unusual to me.

It is my understanding that the mother drove her son to school. After he was shot, she drove him to the hospital. Can you just imagine that happening? My prayers go out for the child and his family.

You're right though. This is indeed difficult for law enforcement. It just gets to me that they won't even mention terrorists as a possibility.

I can only speak for myself here, but I thank God for mothers/aunts like this one for choosing to walk their child to school. Thirteen years old is still not an adult, even if society wants to think it is.

It was his Aunt, and she was dropping him off, just like millions of parents and others do daily.

While there aren't enough cops to stake out everyplace these bozos could target, there are enough riflemen, who are likely better shots than most of the police (not necessarily the police snipers). It's time for the Sherrif or the governor to call out the posse/militia.
