One wonders if this is not part of some elaborate, distracting "'One-Two'Punch"..... one team creates chaos in an area just outside of D.C., such as primarily north of there, and draw federal resources and attention up there, and then, they try to pull off some funny business on a larger scale in the District proper. I, too, think the Governor of Maryland should now be on TV urging some calm and ways to protect oneself and at least keep on top of this. Hoping the people in power start connecting the dots reallllly quickly....

Or, maybe he needs to keep his day job.

"Sounds more like a nutjob.
"Now, an Islamic nutjob might do such a thing....."Exactly what I'm thinking...I just can't shake the nutjob theory out of my head. There are also Pali sympathizer nutjobs like Luke Hjelder and the guy behind the Philly bombs. I'm leaning toward a homegrown Islamakazi sympathizer type, but who knows.
I'm off to the grocery store. Check in later.

I have a grade school near by and I would probably ask the principal if I could stay within the area with a pair of binoculars and watch for any suspicious vehicles. The answer back would probably be "no". They don't need strangers asking to help. If I was the principal, I would do it myself before school lets out. The way the area is laid out there's only a few escape route out of here.
I live in one of the safest communities according to statistics and it's more because it's so hard to get out of here than it's because we have one of the highest amount of CCW licensees in Texas.

I, too, think the Governor of Maryland should now be on TV... It's absolutely unbelievable to me that he's not.

One more nail in the coffin for KKT. "When the shooting spree was going on, what did you do as Lt. Governor to calm the fears of the people?" The answer: Nothing. Buh-bye, thank you for playing. :)

Maryland government knows Gov. Glenspending has no credibility. Anyway, he's probably off vacationing some place with his cutie.

It sounds like school officials aren't adapting to this type of threat in a very intelligent mannerI noticed that at the Middle School coverage this morning; a child had just been shot approaching the school on foot, and yet the schoolbuses were still discharging the kids a few hundred yards from the building entrance.
Ryzaroo, if this is a public school, I'd keep your kindergardener home tomorrow, and if you're paying for this abuse in a private school, let them have it! (You can let the public school have it too, but their bureaucratic ears are plugged.)

Where's the Lt.Governor? KKT is campaigning to become governor. And hasn't she been trying to get political capital out of the killings, by denouncing nasty assault weapons?

My daughter lives in Montgomery county. My son,in the Army, called her and told her to duck, drop and roll. He was only kidding but I personally think it is a great idea.

You will have a hard time pushing any 30.cal round that high unless you have a belted cartridge like a 300 Win. Mag.A friend of mine does it easily with measley little .308 cases handloaded with 110 grain HP bullets. Not a terribly accurate load, but it makes a real mess out of ground squirrels if you can hit them. I've gotten over 2700 fps out of my 26" bbl .30-30 loaded with 100 grain Plinkers and the old Hercules RE7 powder. There's not many uses for that load and rifle combination though, so I usually load 150 gr Core-Locs to around 2300-2400fps with a slower powder.

You mean KKT's not talking on this, either?
OK, so she risks the dreaded "politicization" of the issue -- but if Glendenning is silent, SOME DAMNED BODY in the state government ought at least to be offering condolences and solemn pledges of helping in whatever way necessary.
Unbelievable. Simply amazing.

White Truck: We don't know if it IS connected. Put a request out to the Public..."if you were driving a white truck and were in the area of .....on Wednesday morning etc....please call the FBI @...., you may be able to help.
It could lead to discounting it. The bad guys sure wouldn't show.

She's talking but it's the "we need to take the rest of your guys" kindof talking. None of the "we'll hunt down the @#$%#s and fill them full of lead" kind of talking that the people NEED to be hearing.

I wouldn't be surprised if this is basically a distraction. They picked up a Jordanian associate of Mohammed Atta's in Hollywood, FL a couple of days ago. He was buying a one-way ticket to Palatka, FL, a town on the Amtrak line, and for some reason, they thought he was headed for DC after that.
I also think - although, of course, I'm always willing to accept reality if it turns out to be different from my scenario ;-) - that if these people get cornered at some point, they will then probably blow up their truck and themselves, trying to take as many law enforcement people with them as possible.

Errrr... guys = guns.
End of day, my fingers are tired. :)
