If it wasn't for the environmentalists, there'd be no forest fires in many of these forests because there wouldn't have been any trees left in them except a few scrub trees.

I don't have a lot of time so I'll just say this.

The severity of this years fires is directly due to the "hands off" policy you say would help the forests. People have been managing the forests for thousands of years and suddenly taking this approach is catastrophic.

I wish I had more time but I'm gonna have to pass any other questions off to others on this thread. They will "hopefully" respond with tact because I think you are just mis-informed.
