What has happened to our image as a beacon of freedom, opportunity and the right way to live?

Much of the world fears or hates us. We have a proclaimed policy of attacking any country whose policies or regimes don't follow our dictates.

Why have we become the biggest bully in the world?

Iraq was and is a 'weak' nation compared to us, the threat from them to the United States is minimal.

If you are 6 feet 3 inches, weigh 210 solid pounds and some 5 foot 6 inch, 120 pound street punk comes at your kids with brass knuckles, are you going to agonize about how "weak" the punk is compared to you before you take him out?

Saddam Hussein killed 300,000 Iranians. That is six times more than all the Americans that died in the entire Vietnam War. He wound 500,000 others.

He took over Kuwait. He was in a position to control a major portion of the world's oil reserves and the U.S. and world economy along with it.

If Saddam develops nuclear weapons and the missile delivery system he craves, the time before Saddam gives the order and the time the nuclear warhead strikes New York City is less than one hour.

With the right weaponry, that 120 pound street punk will kill you and your family no mater how strong you fancy yourself to be.

Regarding 9/11...no nation claiming responsibility, yet we have declared 'War' on a concept.

Osama bin Ladin and his al Qaeda organization claimed responsibilty. We are at war with that organization and any sovereign nation that provides them aid.

It is not unheard of for the United States of America to wage war on an entity that the United States does not consider a sovereign nation.

One such example is a little known entity formerly known as the Confederate States of America.

Sorry, bub, but not only could America not have stopped that slaughter, it has no business being there. Why risk American or anyone elses lives on these ancient tribal vendettas?
