CNN just broke in and said that the GOP will not wait to find out the SCONJ decision.

They will bring a petition to Federal Court (eventual destination SCOTUS) on the Voting Rights Act with regard to the 1,800 already mailed absentee ballots in NJ.

I appreciate and share in your utter distane for the disgusting display being put before us in this demo melt-down. I can assure you, there's no room for referring to a "bloody civil war" in an effort to illustrate your distane.

All of America shares in your disgust for the way dems lust for power in this peaceful land of ours, and it's painfully obvious, even to the most casual observer that the dems do this out of a tantrum when ever they loose power. No bullets required.

You can't have ours for the three counties in South Florida. Senegal is already sending them.

What I got from the report was that absentee ballots must be available 45 days before the election, according to federal law, because of the overseas military ballots.

Oh! but one of the justices brought out the fact that it is now 44 days before the election and all the military ballots haven't been mailed out yet.

Indicating the law is on the books, but we don't follow them.

Forrester would do well too challenge this turkey to an immediate debate. This man wants to be senator? Then surely he is up on the latest issues, right? Blitz the old fart. If he cowers or begs for delay, rub it in. In the meantime, Lott should consider a federal law that Amelia quoted. Absentee ballots must be provided 45 days in advance out of respect for the soldiers. If true, then it is under the jurisdiction of the Supreme Court. Let's chew gum and walk at the same time. Debate challenge. AND possible appeal.

So just ignore the PRINCIPLE of the thing. Just forget about
the rule of law.

There was a report on GA state news today about absentee ballots. What I got from the report was that absentee ballots must be available 45 days before the election, according to federal law, because of the overseas military ballots.

The report in GA concerned the fact that the primaries had been postponed this year, making the runoffs less than 45 days before the general election, so ballots were not available in time - and how it was being dealt with.

However, it seems to me that this federal law - which I haven't had time to research - might have some relevance to the NJ situation.

Forrester should have a campaign rally on a Navy ship. Bush should send one up to NJ, dock it and have a "let's support our troops and remember their right to vote" rally. This would bury Lautenliar.

I'll wait at red lights as long as there are cars going in the "green lights" direction. Otherwise, red lights are only "suggested stop."

Can anyone find out if the NJSC has ever rendered a decision the same day oral arguments were heard before?

"Americans generally honor their fighting forces with all their hearts."

Sadly, your words are not true. Americans generally do NOT honor their fighting forces with all their hearts. Those who serve and those who honor them are few and far between nowadays.

The demonrats deny the sanctity of Life itself!!!

Yes they do, and have before Roe v Wade. It should not go unnoticed that LBJ used the US military to help guarantee his re-election in '68. Throwing away military absentee ballots is just emptying the waste basket for the socialists in charge of the Dem's.

Still under Supreme Court jurisdiction, and this court decision is no accident, but a pre-conceived violation of Federal law. Deliberate. This is not an 'Oops we are behind schedule' thing. This is an 'Oops we didn't think this through carefully' thing.

It's like the boss seeing someone bowling when the joker called in sick.

I appreciate your squeamishness, and I am not suggesting that is the course of action now, nor would I be in any position to start one even if I wanted to.

However, I retract NOTHING I stated in post #64. The American people should not, and hopefully WOULD not stand by and let their country be stolen from them by common criminals.

Have a wonderful day.

We will see. When New Jersy voters find out that the soldiers' voting rights were trampled on, we will see how much they don't care about the military.

I heard the court arguements were faxed to the Justices last night with a brief Q& A session today so that they could subvert the law.

So what? And I'm sure you'll agree - then slap those guilty county clerks with a citation or something! Just because someone ignores one law doesn't mean we should throw out another. Guess this justice never heard the old adage, two wrongs don't make a right. Hello, how about enforce BOTH LAWS instead of using the breaking of one to justify the breaking of another?

This is something I was not aware of. If true, then the US Supreme Court must be asked to intervene for the sake of soldiers' voting rights.

See my posting at #83. I heard one of the Justices say something like, it is now 44 days before the elections and all of the military ballots still haven't been mailed out. So what?.

It was in the context of we have these rules on the books but it is only like a guide and we don't always follow them.
