Yes, it looks like it is turning slightly towards the Texas - Louisiana coast

This new projected landfall is probably hardest on Delcambre, Erath, and Abbeville. We are somewhat protected by Avery Island (over 200' elev.) while they aren't.

Thanks. Have to update my real one, though, which should take about 20 minutes.
Those live webcams in N.O. look pretty cool.

LOL
I hear things are getting crazy there Bro (at least in certain parts around there).
Always nice to meet a fellow Freeper!

It's really quiet right now. I don't know if it's due to the storm or the fact that Mother-in-law hit the sack. :-)
To: Uncle Sham
That's interesting, I was just looking at a topo map of Avery Island. What's a hill like that doing in that part of LA?
To: Uncle Sham
Maybe a combination of both, the cane is 110 miles due south of you.
To: Uncle Sham
No problem, very concerned that New Iberia and Lafayette will get the worst of this sucker...
To: Diddle E. Squat
how many people live in abeville?
To: Diddle E. Squat
It's called "salt" dome. Highest spot on the central gulf coast. Home of Tobasco.
To: newsperson999
Abbeville has about twenty thousand residents. My best guess.
To: Uncle Sham
Radio is warning of hurricane force winds in this area BEFORE six am.
