Life was never the same after finding www.freerepublic.com, How about Yours?
Kick the liberals out! is the battle cry! ^ | 9/8/2001 | TLBSHOW

My life has never been the same since I found www.freerepublic.com

I was a normal kind of guy. I ate food went out for walks and even watched videos, eek! I took the wife shopping. Even talked to the wife once in awhile.

Then that fateful night of Nov 7th 2000. I had to go somewhere else to to watch the election results as I do not have Cable TV. I went to the pizza joint on rt 7 and then to my secret election watch hide out.(No one to interupt)

I wanted to watch Bush beat the socks off of Gore. I new it was going to be a great night. Little did I know I would never sleep that night or for the next 5 weeks.

It took me till the end of November to find out I was not alone. That there was a freerepublic.com.

Before I would tell people the truth and they all wouldn't have a clue or they thought, this boy is NUTS! It was a lonely life thinking Am I The Only One that sees what is going on with this country and what the liberal bias media and the leftist democrats were doing to it, let alone the Clintons and Reno.

Well to make the story short. I was watching the news and these great people were on TV saying get out of Cheneys house. There it was the sign said Freerepublic.com. I copied it down and ran to my computer. I typed it in and sure enough The NEW WORLD WAS RIGHT BEFORE MY EYES!

I think what would my life be if there was not a FR. If the rest of you were not here. That was enough to make me sit up and take notice. What can I do to make sure FR is here forever. Then I found out all I had to do was support the place and along with 70,000 other members make FR home. That we could change the world from here and with hundreds of thousands of people stopping by everyday we could tell the whole world the truth.

I would not trade all of you fine FReepers for any other world.

My life has never been the same since I found www.freerepublic.com (What about yours?)

Ok everyone has your life been the same since logging on to FR and what adventures have you had?

I learned about Free Republic in 1998 and looked at it a little. The original format tended to choke my computer, so I didn't think much about it. I was building my own website and trying to focus my energies there. I got some more RAM for Christmas that year and had some other work done that made it easier to open more sites. By early 1999, I realized my site was never going to get much serious traffic, so I started posting my thoughts on message boards. Someone reminded me of Free Republic, and I came here to start posting.

I've met some nice people through Free Republic. I went with YaYa123 and MemphisBelle to see Algore make his announcement speech. We didn't disrupt the speech, but we held up posters and talked to the media afterwards. I also spent some time in the FR booth at the Texas GOP convention in 2000. Otherwise, I don't think I've met any Freepers in real life. However, I've greatly enjoyed my online friendships.

I've spent many hours here. I can't honestly say that I like politics. I think if everything else were equal, I'd spend all of my time on outdoor stuff and never think about politics at all. However, I believe that being involved and fighting for the mind, soul, and direction of the country is important. I think I have some worthwhile things to say, and I appreciate the opportunity to say them. I really don't know whether I would do more good spending all of this time in volunteer efforts for conservative candidates, but posting on Free Republic is more enjoyable than working phone banks. Furthermore, none of the campaigns where I've signed up as a volunteer are calling me this year.

I have to thank conservative, gay talk show guy currently on in Los Angeles Al Rantel for pushing this website. He was on a Ft Lauderdale clear channel station at the time and said freerepublic was his absolute favorite website. I believe that was in 1996.

I was just surfing away minding my own business when "someone" grabbed me by the collar and “drugged” me in here. "They" immediately implanted a chip behind my ear and now I don't need a computer anymore. Do you know how people look at you when you end a real conversation with BTTT, PING, LOL, IMO.......?

This place has probably saved a lot of shrink bills for most of us. I've come here to laugh, cry, get angry, be informed, and laugh again and to see there are brave souls all around trying to make a difference for our country.

This is a wonderful time to be alive. Thanks for your post.

So when do they get back? Just after 'we take back the senate'? Or when 'we' lose the house to the Libertarians.

Must be just a coincidence that they both have "Star Wars" related screen names?

Maybe star wars is bad for kids.

My opinion of Jim Robertson declined, to say the least. He is a small man.

Mine opinion has increased. He calls it like he sees it, and he doesn't sweat the fallout. I don't know of any person I have ever come across who is is more immune to threats, intimidation, or political correctness.

Your petty comments evidence the bankruptcy of your own soul.

I think I came here shortly before the infamous election. I had heard about FR on Rush but never quite got around to coming here (and for the life of me I can't remember what I used to do online!) One day it popped into my head so I came for a looksee and was FLOORED!

I called my mom and told her, " You HAVE to go to FR! It's the greatest place!" But she's still just a lurker :)

There isn't anywhere else on the web that I can go during a situation like what happened today and find all the relevant law cited, people who understand what the law means (well mostly! LOL), coverage from every news station, informed predictions of what will happen next...and people who are just as outraged as I am. It's a blessing.

I don't know the precise reason for the actual ban,....

Then you should shut your pie hole until you do.

Maybe star wars is bad for kids.

It is when their world view is based on it.

Yeah, my life took on an indescribably beauteous turn for the better, once I met my big government conservative soulmates.

Pard, you really have too much time to diddle. Your vanities are best ignored.

Over and OUT.

I think I've been here since about June 1997. Most of the time I am very glad I discovered this place. Unfortunately, I have spent way too much time FReeping at the expense of business.
