Teddy Kennedy on Fox News arguing against war
Fox News | 9-27-02 | Teddy Kennedy

Posted on 09/27/2002 8:15:41 AM PDT by bonesmccoy

Teddy Kennedy is arguing against military intervention in Iraq. These words transcribed as he speaks... "As I said earlier, we still don't know the fate, location, or operational capacity of Osama Bin Ladin but we do know that Al Queda is still there and here. But, we don't know when where or how this will happen. CIA director has testified that Al Queda remains a serious threat to our country... even if the Taliban out of power.. Afghanistan is still fragile... our reconstruction effort is halting and inadequate...

Some operatives have faded into the woodwork...Karzai is still struggling... Pakistan is far from certain...

United Nations is far from convinced

The country is so screwed right now with our baby boomer leadership. the capitol bldg was within one Let's Roll of being reduced to a pile of marble and granite and yet politics and advantage take president over national policy. We are all going to end up broke (the stock market is ready to give up) and defensively compromised because that's the way the democrats want it. I blame Bush for being a weak President as much as I blame the beached whale for being a political opportunist.

It's really amazing that the DEMONRATS are repeating the same dire consequences for attacking Iraq as was done in Desert Shield/Storm. Everyone of the Demo's were WRONG!

I just only wish General Schwartzkoph had told Powell after ordering him to stop his advance in Iraq; "I'm sorry, sir! You're fading out. I'll call you back when we reach Bagdad!"

These guys are on a mission, Democrats are imploding. They wanted the U.N. involved and they are, They wanted Bush to ask for a resolution, He has. These guys are sickening

Exactly. Who says Saddam doesn't have friends? There are at least 30 Senators and 150 Representatives that are his absolutely best buddies right about now.

I just called Teddy's office. Spoke to a woman......told her that if the Senator was a John Fitzgerald Kennedy American, Mary Jo Kopechne would be alive today.

...It's a very peaceful and sad moment- did Kennedy actually say the last 15 minutes???...

I just heard it again (CSPAN replay) and Kennedy, I think, is quoting somebody else who says that "urban" warfare (or something) will be brutal like the last 15 minutes of "Ryan".

So my guess is that he really *meant* the "last" 15 minutes (not including the "present-time" part, apparently) where (I've been told) there is a battle in a city setting (as opposed to the beach invasion that starts the movie).

Photo editing request---

Can one of our talented photo editors place Ted Kennedy's head on "Fat Bastard"?

That sums him up for me.

Ted Kennedy says, "I am not convinced Iraq has made any progress towards nuclear weapons"

And I am not convinced that all that Viagra Teddy is taking has done anything other than enlarge the size of his gut.

It's lunchtime...I'm back....didn't see you on that the thread.....Roger didn't do too bad in for Rush, from what I heard of it.....I really am thinking we COULD take back the Senate, now, even though Ann Coulter predicted it wouldn't happen....history and all that. (Though, sounds as though the DEMS have some sneaky traps laid.) See ya later.

Wolf question of the day is Whom do you support on Iraq? Ted or W? Let him have it.

Fat Teddy is an appeaser just like his daddy. Old man Kennedy was opposed to fighting Hitler while he was American ambassador to England. FDR hated his guts and couldn't wait to dump him.

It's amazing how everyone was complaining that no one could "connect all the dots" prior to 9/11.

How many freakin dots do they need to go after Iraq? It's raining dots everywhere!

Is this true? Did Bayh really repudiate Kennedy?
