President Bush met with President Alvaro Uribe of Colombia today, and discussed the war on terrorism, as well as Columbia's continued efforts in fighting the illegal drug trade. Bush also met with the Boys and Girls Clubs National Youth of the Year finalists in the White House. This evening, the President attended the National Republican Senatorial Committee dinner at the National Building Museum. Meanwhile, First Lady Laura Bush was in Mexico City attending the 11th Conference of Spouses of Heads of State and Government. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

From an email:
Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle is demanding that President Bush apologize for saying that Democrats are "not interested in the security of the American people." Daschle says the president wants to politicize the debate over war with Iraq, but Republicans say that Daschle is the one playing political games. Log on to

There have been so many people .... FReepers ..... who have been beside themselves because the President hasn't lashed out at the 'Rats ..... he's remained calm, civil, and positive. IMO, these people have simply missed the point completely ...... it has gone whizzing way over their heads.
The very fact that Bush has maintained his integrity and his promise to change the attitude in DC is why he comes across looking so strong now in contrast to those who are imploding.
The President has truly walked the walk ..... and don't you know it must have been difficult ..... that he must have wanted to blast them with both barrels. But he has followed the teachings of the Lord ..... and now the results of that walk are becoming increasingly more evident.
May God be with him and may he continue to lean on the Lord rather than his own understanding!

Amen. Your post is beautiful. Walking the walk (in unimaginable times-when temptations to lash out must be great) with the Lord is wondrous...and our President is going to make it all the way to the finish line, ya just know it. PRAISE GOD! (And I do....praying for our President has become a daily part of my life! )

Ueaj ! What Wphile said ! LOL.
I was busy too. I called Landrieu and Breaux's office, tried to call Daschle but his mailbox was full. LOL. I emailed Lott, Miller and the President. LOL

You know, now that you mention it, I haven't seen her in about 2 weeks, She must be on vacation. I'm feel certain she hasn't retired, they couldn't blast that hag outta there with a daisy cutter.

Yes, Destrehan is probably gonna have some problems. No doubt the locals have given him some good advise about how and what to do to be safe. I'll be sure to remember him in my prayers and I thank you for yours :)

Well, he just moved there from Nebraska. We'd rather he was dealing with hurricanes than tornados!
I talked to his mother tonight and she told me something I found really amusing. Friends of my nephew's from Nebraska called today to check on him and his family. They made some remark about hiding in the basement if things got bad.
HA! A basement anywhere near a coast is otherwise known as a swimming pool! I guess those people have always lived in Nebraska ....... :-)
