A Few of FR's Finest..... ......Every Day
FR is a Treasure Trove of talented, compassionate, patriotic, wonderful people who gather every day to discuss the latest news and issues; salute and support our military and our leaders; tell a few jokes; learn a new word; write poetry; pray for those in need; and congratulate those who are deserving. Thank you, Jim Robinson, for giving us the vehicle in which we can express ourselves.
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997. I can remember lurking when there were only a few regulars who posted, and now there are over 60,000 who have registered for posting privileges. The forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.

A Few of FR's Finest November 11, 2001
So many people have written me since my original Veteran's Day Tribute, asking how they, or a loved one, could be included in that tribute. Since I can no longer add the photos to the body of the thread, I've been including them in additional posts as I received enough to make another collage.
Still that doesn't seem to be enough. I think there's never been a better nor more appropriate time to keep the faces of our own Veterans and Active Military in front of FReepers--every day! That's why I wanted to do yet another Daily Thread .....ABOUT FReepers .....and FOR FReepers. But not only about our Military FReepers; for all FReepers! Wouldn't it be nice to get to know a few of the other FReepers as well? That's why, in addition to seeing FR's Finest Military Personnel every day, I thought it might be fun to feature a different FReeper (or FReepers) each day. If you would like to be pictured, or know someone who would, please FReepmail me and we'll turn the spotlight - on YOU - for the day!
And do let me know if you'd like your picture added to the groups of Veterans/Active Military below. I will keep this page updated, and continue to add them to the comment section of the original Veteran's Day thread as well.

Thanks, Mixer!
(1) First find your join date by clicking on your profile. You can find this by clicking on your name in any thread that you posted or at the top right of any forum next to where it says My Mail and My Comments. If you go in that way you will then have to click on the link that says my profile and the date you joined will be at the top.
2) Next go to http://www.calendars.net:8194/fr_aniver
3) Once there you can click on any month and even click to the right to go into next year. Once you are in the month that you joined FR you will need to click on the number in the calendar and then an add item screen will come up.
4) In the next box enter your name in the "Calendar Text" field and then click on submit.
5) If any of the screens fail to load simply click on refresh in your browser and that will usually fix it.
6) If all else fails or simply if you want me to do this for you send me an FReepmail and I will gladly do it for you. ~Mixer

"You never answered my last mail." Now if I can just remember how to FIND the mail box, Nan - LOL!
I remember I there checking it one day, and just kinda wandered off - you know how THAT is!
Have you looked in the Mail Room on FR lately?
The Range Rovers have taken over posting their targets from practice for the Clay Wars.!

To tell you the truth, I don't recall (don't you love that phrase?) whether I sent you freepmail or e-mail. It's been three or four days ago. Which is to say at our age a century ago in memory.

I'm actually totally immersed in Fall Cleaning, now that it IS fall - usually am a couple of months behind, but I looked around the living room and said "IT IS TIME - NOW."
Then, of course, the next room and the hall and - - -

Another amazing parallel. Cleaning is what I've been doing too. Going through the entire house and pitching into yard sale piles. Then I'm going to paint if my body holds out (that's in question). I spent last week cleaning the studio. The guys don't seem to get around to cleaning and it was an embarrassment to have such a mess in a public business. I organized the tons of equipment, cameras, lights, props, etc. and son had best keep it that way or answer to me. Well, it's been a long day. I'm off to bed to get recharged for tomorrow. Sigh. Take care of your own self and stay well. God bless.

Hope everyone had a good day today, it was just beautiful in Memphis weather wise.
Rocky is doing good...actually managed to advert 4 accidents on the floor today, not bad for a new puppy who is 8 weeks old.

Yes, I'm very late getting here but just returned from my sister's birthday. I am very happy to hear that your sis, Dansangel, is feeling chipper again! You must be very relieved!
And thank you for the fine Thud origination tale, ofMagog, and the boat photo, LadyX. You all had such interesting talk today here on FR's Finest.
You'll be happy to hear that my sister's birthday celebration was also great. Her friend (who wants to start a bed and breakfast) did all the cooking -a Persian meal - 5 courses. I was going to post the 20 or so dishes but I'm too tired! (from all the eating no doubt!) Each course had several dishes and they came about 40 minutes apart. We literally ate all afternoon and evening - some people dressed up and the music was authentic. I did feel a little odd with the "Persian" theme because of our present war on terror, but I reminded myself that it was Persia - not present day Iran we were doing. Also, one does not quarrel with a sis on her birthday.
So sleep tight everyone and I hope to see you tomorrow after work! And thanks for including me in your joyful thread :)
