Media VS Dubya

Beginning with his run for governor of Texas, the liberal, unimaginative, whining media ("they") have consistently been wrong in their description of Dubya. Here are some examples you may remember...

They said he was just a "playboy", yet he married a woman of intelligence, grace, beauty and such inner strength she comforted an entire nation after 9/11/01.

They said he didn't have "political savvy", yet he managed to defeat the incumbent, Democrat governor of Texas, Ann Richards. In fact, he whupped her a$$ (paybacks are he$$, aren't they Ann?)

They said he was a "fratboy", but Americans have seen his seriousness of purpose and respect he has for the office of President.

They said he lacked intelligence, but he continues to confound and confuse those that consider themsevles erudite and sophisticated.

They said that the country was so "divided" after the 2000 election, that he would never be considered "legitimate", yet his approval numbers have been the most consistently high of any President since these polls have been in existence.

They said he couldn't back out of Kyota, but he did.

They said he couldn't back out of the ABM treaty without ostracizing Russia and creating an international incident, but he not only did back out of the treaty he negotiated what is, so far, a successful partnership with that very country.

They said there could not be any bi-partisanship in Washington, but he kept another campaign promise and got an Education package through.

They said he was a "Daddy's Boy" and had to have his Daddy's cronies around him to run the country, but it was he who made the decision to shoot down commercial airlines if necessary on 9/11

They said he "wore his faith on his sleeve" (like this was a bad thing), but he was the one who invoked God to help heal a nation torn by tragedy

They said he was a poor orator and made fun over his "garbled syntax", yet who will forget his extemporaneous remarks with the firefighters, his address to Congress after 9/11, his speech in the National Cathedral, or his State of the Union address?

They said he lacked foreign relations experience, but he quickly assembled a coalition to fight terrorism after 9/11.

They condescendingly said he "lacked gravitas", but he was the Commander-in-Chief who decided on a war plan for Afghanistan and who, with strength, patience and purpose, continues the fight against terrorism to protect America.(oh, and remember "quagmire"?)

They said he could not "fill the screen", but on the day of remembrance for those lost on 9/11, no one could take their eyes off him as he comforted the families and talked to the nation.

They said he was a unilateralist, but he challenged the UN and shook those assembled to the core with their own words.

They said he is a "cowboy". Well, maybe they got one right. I say, what's wrong with that?

The latest and lamest? Now they say he is "limited". Seems like the only ones limited are the reporters and various pundits who write this stuff.

And to think, this man has only been in office less than 2 years.

God Bless President George W. Bush.

Ping to my Dose buddies who talked me into doing this.

. This is my first try, so hope it's OK.

You're doin' just fine. I was happy to listen to GW's speechs the last few days. He's really grown as a speaker as well.

This is so true. You did a great job.

Don't forget that Ma Richards called him a "daddy's boy" and an "empty suit!" That's part of what got Barbara Bush on the warpath with Nolan Ryan -- I can still remember her warning Richards that you can pick on my George but you don't pick on my son -- with that she was off and running campaigning in Texas for GW!

The rest is history!

This may be the sharpest Prez at shaping public situations since TR.
Reading Theodore Rex really gets you a sense of how in control TR was. W seems to be pulling the same stunts with the same success.

An excellent post, and right on the money. Thank you for stepping out and doing this!

I would add that they said he was a NWO shill, but he stood before the UN andtold them to fish or cut bait.

Are you listening, Inspector Harry Callahan?

Good job!
The media continues to lie about President Bush, but now it pretty much makes them look the fools. The American people see him for themselves, and trust and respect him.
The playboy, frat boy, et al, label does fit the media's darling whom they still are mourning the loss of, Bill Clinton. Rather amusing that they chose to paint Bush with the brush they should have used for him.

Thanks for the support! I don't think the Inspector gets the gist of the topic.

This was supposed to come through as a vanity, but maybe Jim R will give me a break this time.

Bubba, you made it with flying colors...

President Bush agenda: 60+%

The "Media" agenda: less than 35%

The Democrat/Socialist and their associative (Gays, Greens, etc.) "spin" is now recognized as "pure assed lies" (seen Crossfire lately?), and thanks to the internet and Fox News Channel and other responsible affiliate stations these lies are being exposed at an exponential rate.

Regardless of how drugged the Socialists try, children are recognizing the problems lies bring about to the country and the individuals who continue to spew them...

And when you find him evenly deriv'd

From his most fam'd of famous ancestors,

George H. W. Bush, he bids you then resign

Your crown and kingdom....

Sadd. Or else what follows?

Bloody constraint; for if you hide the crown

Even in your hearts, there will he rake for it:

Therefore in fierce tempest is he coming,

In thunder and in earthquake, like a Jove--

That if requiring fail, he will compel;--

And bids you, in the bowels of the Lord,

Deliver up the crown; and take mercy

On the poor souls for whom this hungry war

Opens vastly its jaws: and on your head

Turns he the widows' tears, the orphans' cries,

The dead men's blood, the pining maidens' groans,

For husbands, fathers, and betrothed lovers,

That shall be swallow'd in this controversy.

And, be assur'd, you'll find a difference,---

As we, his subjects, have in wonder found,---

Between the promise of his greener days

And those he masters now: now he weighs time

Even to the utmost grain:--that you shall read

In your own losses if he stay in Bhagdad.

Good post with valid points. Nice job.

Ignore the Bush bashers here; they'll blame a rainy day on the man and delight in making lists of his perceived political sins, based on some skewed concept that any money spent for almost any government function - good or bad - such as self defense, is proof of Bush's guilt of not being a real conservative.

Hey, it gives them something to do, keeps themn out of trouble and is basically harmless as no one cares much. Keeps things interesting if you don't take them too seriously.
