Daschle Lies on National Television

This is important enough to merit a short thread, I believe.

About a week ago Senator Nickles of Oklahoma said he specifically asked the President if he wanted an Iraq resolution before the October recess, and the President answered "Yes."

Today, Fox was interviewing Senator Warner of Virginia, who said that the President has specifically asked members of BOTH parties and BOTH houses of Congress for a resolution before the October recess, and the meeting took place in the cabinet room. I am assuming this is the meeting at which Senator Nickles was present, and I would assume Senator Daschle was also present.

THEN, Daschle comes out saying the President hasn't yet made his case, and says that placing a resolution in front of the Senate is "premature" because "the President hasn't asked for one yet."

This statement by Daschle is therefore an obvious lie, and I am trying to get as many people aware of this as possible.

The comments are on tape, so I am hopeful Fox will air them this evening, and also hopeful talk radio will pick up on the comments.

Senator Warner was quite impassioned, and said that international cooperation will fall away if we do NOT get a resolution demonstrating solidarity with the President.

Like Slick Willie, Daschle can't help lieing. Remember last year when there was an anthrax alert in the Senate and Tommy said that he didn't know there was a "safe place" for the lawmakers? It turned out that he had BEEN THERE! This pathetic little shrimp is so transparent in everything he says and does, I can't believe how he can get face time in the media!

Senator Daschle,
I am writing to urge you to pass a resolution regarding the use of the military in Iraq. Our way of life is threatened by a two-bit dictator and all you seem to want to do is stand in the way of President Bush. How can you possibly no longer be convinced that we need to remove Hussein? You agreed with the idea when Mr. Clinton was trying to distract the nation from his impeachment. What has changed since then? Have there been numerous inspectors that can't find anything in Iraq? NO. Has Sadaam changed his ways? NO! The only change that I can see is that there is a Republican in the White House. You are playing politics with the saftey and well-being of American citizens, Senator. I will not forget this when you come up for re-election, and I will make sure and remind everyone that I know. You are taking the attacks on our country as your opportunity to stand in the way of what needs to be done in order to gain political points with the far left. Or you are a coward who thinks that hugging those who would destroy our country will solve the problem. I don't believe it is the latter, so it must be political games. When someone lies on national television when it is so easy to discover the truth, what does that say about the person? Pathological?
