This is important enough to merit a short thread, I believe.
About a week ago Senator Nickles of Oklahoma said he specifically asked the President if he wanted an Iraq resolution before the October recess, and the President answered "Yes."
Today, Fox was interviewing Senator Warner of Virginia, who said that the President has specifically asked members of BOTH parties and BOTH houses of Congress for a resolution before the October recess, and the meeting took place in the cabinet room. I am assuming this is the meeting at which Senator Nickles was present, and I would assume Senator Daschle was also present.
THEN, Daschle comes out saying the President hasn't yet made his case, and says that placing a resolution in front of the Senate is "premature" because "the President hasn't asked for one yet."
This statement by Daschle is therefore an obvious lie, and I am trying to get as many people aware of this as possible.
The comments are on tape, so I am hopeful Fox will air them this evening, and also hopeful talk radio will pick up on the comments.
Senator Warner was quite impassioned, and said that international cooperation will fall away if we do NOT get a resolution demonstrating solidarity with the President.

It now looks like the UN may act before the US Senate, which would put the democrats in a very difficult situation trying on the one hand to please their all important leftist constituencies by continuing to flirt with obstruction, and on the other hand not totally disgust the voting public.

Discerning when a politician is lying can be difficult. Even when caught in a lie, they have an uncanny ability to wiggle out of it. Astute students of politics carefully study their words and sift them to determine accuracy.
This poor old Hobbit is tired of the game. Whenever Little Tommy Daschle opens his mouth, I assume he is lying. I have found this method to be both time saving and highly accurate. :)

Pathological? Pathological=Daschle.
It is an anogram (Change the P to a D. Make the T an S and the H a C. Then take the O and make it a H. Eliminate logical altogether becuase there is none. Then add LE). See, it works. Pathological=Daschle

Why can't these Pubbies just come put & call him on these issues DIRECTLY. 10 or more Pubbies would be a nice start. Every chance should demean this socialist/communist. Why, why don't they do it? This is a perfect time.

Unless people live in his state, what difference does it make if people know. And the fact the a politicion lied isn't exactly big news.
BTW, the people in his state know all about him and they still elect him, so it's a moot point.
To: ThomasJefferson
The point is to reduce his ability to block a resolution, along wiith all the OTHER things he has been blocking.

Why, why don't they do it? They don't have the balls. And they are afraid they will look like big bad meanies among the people they are courting.
To: Miss Marple
The point is to reduce his ability to block a resolution, along wiith all the OTHER things he has been blocking.Precisely how will this reduce his ability?
To: Miss Marple
How can you tell when Daschle is lying?
His mouth is moving.

"Why are all DemocRATs pathological liars?"
By means of shrewd lies, unremittingly repeated, it is possible to make people believe that heaven is hell -- and hell heaven. The greater the lie, the more readily it will be believed

By the way, McCain is doing a good job of helping the President. Very smart of Lott to get him on TV with him, since the press sucks up to everything McCain says. Now when is the last time we saw a comment like that? Has someone been whispering in Lott's ear? And when did McCain get the message? Inquiring minds want to know.
To: ThomasJefferson
Even if someone does not live in Daschle's state, if they pound on their own Democrap senators to get them to pound on Daschle, it will have an effect.
