President Bush traveled to the three areas of the country that were hit by terrorist attacks one year ago today. Bush traveled to the Pentagon this morning, Pennsylvania this afternoon, and New York City this evening- where he delivered an address to the nation from Ellis Island. Today is a day for remembering the lives that were lost, and today is a day for honoring the freedom that we will fight and die for. God bless America. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

I would like to request a photo of Bush hugging the boy that was in the 60 minute interview if anyone can find it.

RINTENSE.......wonderful as usual.....now......
HOW About we all raise a glass at 8pm Pacific in a toast (juice, wine, whatever) to our Men and Women in UNIFORM, and to the grownups in the ADMINISTRATION!!!!! AND, of course to those who died in the 9-11 ATTACK!

I felt the same way this morning. But then I realized how much I truly dreaded this day coming for a full year. And now that it is here, I realize that we made it. And we will continue to make it. Tomorrow will come. Prayers for you for a comfortable night sleep.

I am emotionally drained from watching the ceremonies on tv today. I can't imagine how the President and First Lady must feel having experienced them all, comforting all those people.
We must pray that the Lord will strengthen and renew them as well as protect them from all harm.
I was so touched by the ending to his speech tonight. He quoted John1:5 .... but because he didn't give a scripture reference, I'll bet the unwashed masses will never catch it. Chess, not checkers!
And the light shines in the darkness. And the darkness will not overcome it.

"I would like to request a photo of Bush hugging the boy that was in the 60 minute interview if anyone can find it." I second that. I had never seen it before.

I cried after the speech tonight. When the President said the quote of the day, I yelled 'Damn straight!' in the middle of the golf clubhouse. Everyone cheered.

Yes! I felt the same way! I thought, "How can anyone NOT like or trust this man?!" I have so much more admiration and respect for him today than I did yesterday. We were blessed with him.
Did you notice his many references to "Americans loving and respecting ALL life" in his speech tonight?
To: rintense
thank you for the wonderful pictures. The ones from this evening from NYC with the Statue of Liberty in the background were really great. Mrs. Bush was the force behind that wonderful concert and Mr Bush is speaking now, just to turn the stage over to her. What a gentleman! He is definitely a President and leader that we can be proud of.

Hey, who are you calling unwashed? I took a bath a few months ago, and *I* didn't know that was a bible quote. Hmmmph!

I knew it was a verse of scripture, but I wasn't sure which one. Thanks.

We watched the speech at the golf club, and when the President came walking down the walkway, I said, 'I love the way he walks.' And someone said, 'He walks like a cowboy, a real man.' Amen to that.

It's not that one. It is the one where he is hugging the boy when he met him in NYC. It was shown in the 60 minute interview. I had never seen it before but the brief glimpse of it showed it to be a very touching photo.

Psalm 65
Praise to God for His Salvation and Providence
1 Praise is awaiting You, O God, in Zion;
And to You the vow shall be performed.
2O You who hear prayer,
To You all flesh will come.
3Iniquities prevail against me;
As for our transgressions,
You will provide atonement for them.
4Blessed is the man You choose,
And cause to approach You,
That he may dwell in Your courts.
We shall be satisfied with the goodness of Your house,
Of Your holy temple.
5By awesome deeds in righteousness You will answer us,
O God of our salvation,
You who are the confidence of all the ends of the earth,
And of the far-off seas;
6Who established the mountains by His strength,
Being clothed with power;
7You who still the noise of the seas,
The noise of their waves,
And the tumult of the peoples.
8They also who dwell in the farthest parts are afraid of Your signs;
You make the outgoings of the morning and evening rejoice.
9You visit the earth and water it,
You greatly enrich it;
The river of God is full of water;
You provide their grain,
For so You have prepared it.
10You water its ridges abundantly,
You settle its furrows;
You make it soft with showers,
You bless its growth.
11You crown the year with Your goodness,
And Your paths drip with abundance.
12They drop on the pastures of the wilderness,
And the little hills rejoice on every side.
13The pastures are clothed with flocks;
The valleys also are covered with grain;
They shout for joy, they also sing.

We actually did that tonight after golf! We celebrated how we continue to be free and are the best damn country in the world.

Well, I'll have to confess to recognizing it as being from the Prologue to the Gospel of John but I had to look it up to find chapter and verse.
No insult intended to those here who have bathed since Saturday night. I just think it's neat that he slipped that in and it sounded so right ..... and since he didn't say he was quoting scripture, it will be hard for others to criticize him for it.
