That's the last thing it needs. It needs to have people who actually care about promoting conservatism and not lie and smear others who don't agree with them 100% of the time and who have the brains enough to recognize that having someone that is 95% is better than 0%. It needs people who don't make it their mission to make themselves and everyone else miserable.
My mission in life is to get the truth and the facts out and to hold people accountable for their votes because I believe we should hold our congressman and Senators to a high level of personal respnsibility. If they don't perform up to a decent standard and vote liberal more often than not as Sununu has during the past year, I support their ouster.
I don't know who you think is a 95% conservative, but I have fully supported anyone with a 58% Conservative Index rating or better. A 58% rating signifies someone is a moderate conservative. This is usually around where Dick Armey and Tom DeLay fall in the rankings and I have always liked and supported both of them. Sununu, on the other hand, has a 40% Conservative Index Rating for the past year (July 2001-July 2002) which is so far below the average score for Republican House members as to qualify him for mushy moderate RINO status! What's more I don't pay attention to lifetime conservative ratings, which is something the that the New American does not measure. I hold each member of Congress to task for their votes for the last year.

When people start seeing things like CFR being passed and Liberty grabbing Bill pass,Open borders being totally ignored the Lightbulb will go on that perhaps voting for Moderates wasn't such a good idea after All.
Then again.... They will justify it Make excuses for it, and Demand we support it,Name call, Insult and Yell we're not helping the country. Even go so far to say that "our type" isn't welcome.

"nonsense!Dole and Alexander are going to help us regain the Senate and make Trent Lott majority leader again. "Wow - that is something for conservatives to look forward to, isn't it. More Souters anyone?

Better than what we're getting, isn't it? Isn't that the only thing that matters?

Turn off the Rush Limbaugh, put down the National Review and try some independent thinking.
If any of you had a smidgeon of original thought, none of you would be regurgitating this college republican groupthink that says real conservatives lose in general elections.

college republican groupthink that says real conservatives lose in general elections. I didn't say that, and I don't believe it either.

"Remember Bob Smith? He was the most conservative member of the US Senate. He was the most pro-gun and pro-life. He fought to keep Elian Gonzalez in America, he went to bat for the families of MIA and POWs still in Vietnam. He fought against illegal immigration, high taxes and bad treaties. With Phil Gramm, Jesse Helms, and Strom Thurmond gone from the Senate next session, and now Bob Smith, who will stand up against the UN, anti-Second Amendment gun control extremists, and the pro-aborts?
Elizabeth Dole perhaps?
Dick Armey and Bob Barr will be gone from the House in January, so with the total number of true conservatives on Capitol Hill suffering such a large decline in one election season, look for more of the mushy, kinder-gentler-compassionate wimping out even if the GOP holds the House and retakes the Senate. Will Ron Paul be the next victim?

Lott did a disgraceful job in trying to kill Clinton's impeachment trial What unmitigated blather. I believe Lott voted for all the articles.
Only after it was safe. Only after he fixed the groundrules of the trial to insure a Clinton aquital.
Lott violated his sacred oath of affirmation to provide a fair trial. History will judge him harshly.

Only after it was safe.
Can you tell me which Senators vote for the impeachment articles when it was UNsafe? Where do you knumbskulls come up with this blather?
