Presumably you are just addressing those primary voters in that state? The rest of us didn't get a chance to vote.

Redleg Duke. You said.. And, I guess when they attack those they believe are not sufficiently pure, it is righteous, but when they are responded to, it is hateful and "Alex Baldwin-like".

I refer to you post number 78, Where you said

Then we will hunt you down and kill you...stoning your woman and children before your eyes before we do you in! There, is that enough of a conspiracy theory for your pathetic little mind? Go change your tinfoil hat, nitwit and decide if you are going to fight, or just turn your vote over to Bill Clinton In Drag!

Now correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Alec Baldwin say the same exact thing in BOLD text on the Jay Leno Show about Henry Hyde and the Republican House Managers? That statement WAS Alec Baldwin like... almost word for word what he himself SAID.

Because I Point this out, it makes me the "purist conservatives". If that's not how you ment it, Please explain what the statement you made in post 78 was suppose to mean?

The primary is where, like a band of brothers, we duke it out amongst our selves. If you have brothers (or sisters) you know how you used to rassle and tussle as kids. During the primaries we put up our competing, inside the family, points of view.

But in the general election, whichever of our brothers or sisters won the primary - it is our duty to support them against the DemocRATs. Doing the "cutting off our nose to spite our face" routine hurts us - not the real enemy.

From a previous thread...

Smith, who is far and away the most well-funded candidate for Senate of either party with the most dedicated core supporters, is surging in the polls and I am predicting an upset win for him on September 10. The future of the conservative cause and indeed the fate of the US Senate may well depend on New Hampshire Republicans voting to re-elect him.

I've been waiting for a week to reply to your prediction, and can only put it so eloquently on this most hallowed of days...

HA HA!

Laugh it up, RINO, and celebrate with your fellow liberal Democrat RATS who are partying at the thought of having gotten their man, Johnny Sununu, to successfully defeated the Senate's most conservative member and their greatest enemy. Stand by while I search for another pro-Smith editorial to call you and your fellow spineless Sununu supporting RINO Commie-libs to task for your RINO treachery and betrayal of the very conservative causes which you falsely claim to have supported.

Mushy moderate RINO candidates including most notably Johnny Sununu

Lifetime ACU ratings:

John Sununu: 94
Bob Smith: 92

Sununu may never be as outspoken as Smith, but you can just cut the crap about him being a squishy RINO, OK?

Did I miss something? I thought Sununu was a conservative Republican that served under Reagan or elder Bush (?), and that Smith was the liberal Republican, who previously threatened to leave the Republican party like some other traitorous Vermonter who shall remain nameless.

Besides the repudiation of Senator Smith, NH rejected the most conservative candidate for governor in the Republican primary -- former Senator Gordon Humphrey. I still think Shaheen will defeat Sununu because all of New England is becoming monolithically Democrat. Many of the NH conservatives now populate the graveyards, and they have been replaced by transplants from CT and MA. The old NH of Styles Bridges, Meldrim Thomson, and Bob Smith is no more.

and besides, a lot of it will likely be overturned by the Supreme Court anyway.

ROTFLOL! CFR overturned by the Supreme Court? In your dreams? The current liberal dominated Supreme Court that found a ban on partial birth abortions and infanticide unconstitutional has not exactly established much of a record on being able to discern between what is conservative and what is not. The Supreme Court is not by any means assured to rule any of it unconstitutional. Even if it does, it is most likely to leave intact those portions of the Campaign Finance Reform Bill which are most dangerous to the Republican Party's ability to win future elections.

I don't know how many times I have to repeat the same points to support my arguments. It does get tiring. Sununu was awarded a pathetic 40% Conservative Index by the New American magazine which is the standard for measuring conservatives. Smith was cited as one of the top three conservatives (down from #1 conservative) in the Senate by the same index. Sununu's once conservative voting record has taken a decidedly liberal turn during the past year, which can be explained by his many votes against Israel, for the recognition of a rogue Palestinian state, for the continuation of Clintonian appeasement of Communist China and on behalf of illegal immigrants and in defense of suspected terrorists. He even opposes Bush's planned invasion of Iraq. It is true that Sununu was once a conservative, but during the past year has voted as a squishy moderate, if not a RINO. His voting record on terror issues is naive at best.

Lots of conservatives are opposed to invading Iraq--you can bet the New American editors are. BTW, I've never heard anyone call New American THE standard. ACU is much better known.

The wingnut Birchers are the ONLY ones who even read TNA.

Of course the ACU is the standard, and Sununu ranks higher than Smith.

Oh, baloney.

At least now there is a chance to keep Shaheen out. But it won't be a shoo-in, but certainly chances are better since Smith is gone.

I hope it won't be Lott...but I'll certainly take that over Daschle. At least judges will be brought to the floor for a vote.

I don't understand this "less conservative" GOP Senate stuff. Obviously these people haven't looked into history that much. There used to be considerably more 'moderates' of the Snowe, Collins, Chafee variety, like 10-15. Now only 5 of them are this far to the left.

If the majority is not large enough to offset those turncoats, then battles will still be lost by the Senate. But things in the Senate were considerably different with even that 51-50 majority. Those who say otherwise are either clueless or lying.

Conservatives like us need to stay active in the Republican Party

That's the last thing it needs. It needs to have people who actually care about promoting conservatism and not lie and smear others who don't agree with them 100% of the time and who have the brains enough to recognize that having someone that is 95% is better than 0%. It needs people who don't make it their mission to make themselves and everyone else miserable.

Hopefully in your local efforts you don't just sit around complaining and inventing reasons to be upset like you do here on FR.

Really, then why if Sununu is such a great conservative did your standard-bearer David Keane, Chairman of the American Conservative Union join with virtually every other conservative leader and organization in the country in enthusiastically endorsing Bob Smith over mushy moderate Johnny Sununu???? You never answered that question, did you? You also never answered my point about the fact that according to ACU, Smith has scored 100% conservative voting record for the past three years straight, while Sununu's conservative record has continued to fall during the same past few years. According to ACU, Smith is getting more and more conservative although I guess you can't get much more conservative than 100% while at the same time mushy moderate Sununu is getting more moderate. Care to explain these hypocritical inconsistencies in your argument which promotes ACU as your "standard for measuring conservatives"?????
