Shalom!

Hi...2sheep,

Do you think that this could be a signal or symptom from a Volcano that may be Waking Up...in Oregon or Washington?

Just wondering...Oy Vey!

>Do you think that this could be a signal or symptom from a Volcano that may be Waking Up...in Oregon or Washington?

There are some volcanos offshore of Oregon.  They rattle now and then.  This is the first time there have been four in the row of this magnitude.  The Pacific plate moving east, the San Andreas is moving North, and Canada isn't moving.  We just watch.

On January 1, 2002, Timothy Snodgrass, a Christian missionary in the Philippines had a dream or vision (Click here - loads slow) or here: 314 of America being divided down the middle along the Mississippi, and also of a 9.0+ quake on the west coast.  Others have had the same dream or vision including Freeper Sabertooth on one of the threads below.  He said it is because Pres. Bush wants to divide Israel and that G~d will therefore divide America and he said it would occur before the end of 2002.  The two links threads below discuss his dreams and visions, along with those of others.  He said it would happen after the "2nd Polynesian quake."  That happened August 19, 2002, when there were two quakes in Fiji at 7.6 and 7.7 which have seemed to rattle the whole Pacific plate.  Since then there have been volcanoes going off and quakes all around and Fiji (we call "the bottomless pit" because of its deep quakes at 600 km) keeps banging away like a man on a war drum.

 NEW MADRID--WHAT'S IN A NAME?
 EARTH CHANGES APPROACHING
Series of Earthquakes Shake Mount Hood

There are lots of mockers and scoffers and each person should judge prophecy against the Word.  The word does say,

Jer 51:6 Flee out of the midst of Babylon, and deliver every man his soul: be not cut off in her iniquity; for this is the time of the LORD'S vengeance; he will render unto her a recompence.

And America is certainly one picture of Babylon.  The Mississippi is of course in the middle (midst) and is where the New Madrid giant quakes of 1811-12 occurred which reversed the course of the Mississippi for a time and knocked down chimneys and rang church bells in Boston and Maine.  There is a major "rift" in the New Madrid area where 5 states meet.  So, watch and see.  It is best for all to repent and keep all accounts current with the L~rd, the Ruler of the Universe.

8432. tavek
tavek taw'-vek

from an unused root meaning to sever; a bisection, i.e. (by
implication) the centre:--among(-st), X between, half, X (there-
,where-), in(-to), middle, mid(-night), midst (among), X out (of),
X through, X with(-in).

Our opinion is that Tim Snodgrass' vision may be true, although we are extremely doubtful of his interpretation that Judgment can be averted by people praying.  We urge that they repent first, then pray because apostacy is currently epidemic and the L~rd doesn't hear the prayers of the wicked.

Ps 66:18 If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me:

Isa 59:2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.

Oy Vey! is right.

"Earth Abides" was a great read and a lot of food for thought. The scenarios in the book aren't that off the wall at all.

I have been following Tim Snodgrass' predictions for the last few months. He seems to have a vision about earthquakes quite often, then another a few days later that shows how to prevent the first earthquake. This is pretty slick, because then it becomes a win-win situation. I'm not dismissing Snodgrass out of hand, but just once I'd like to see him give an unambiguous prediction.

If I sent out 5,000 letters to prospective clients, 2,500 of them predicting the stock market will go up, and 2,500 that the stock market will go down; then if the market went up, sent another letter to the ones I was correct on, 1,250 saying up, and 1,250 saying down. After 7 straight predictions, I would have 12 people that thought I was the greatest stock market predictor since Warren Buffet. (work out the math yourself).

Sorry, but Snodgrass is not a good earthquake predictor.

From the web site devoted to the 64 Alaskan earthquake.
http://www.aeic.alaska.edu/Seis/64quake/pictures/64pictures.html

Pictures from the 1964 Great Alaskan Earthquake

The 6-story high Four Seasons apartment building in Anchorage was completely destroyed by the 1964 Earthquake.

This house sat right on a fault that opened up.  Note that the trees are tilting in both directions.

The right 1/2 of this school dropped 10-15'. (I guess the left 1/2 of the school could have risen 10-15').  Note how the pipe on the top of the chain link fence is bent upward.

Middleton Island has repeatedly experienced earthquake-induced subsidence, with 5 terraces visible from the last 800 years. The plateau on the right side of this picture is the original beach. The vertical drop due to the 1964 earthquake is 3.6 meters.

The Alaska quake of 64 caused a tsunami in Crescent City CA. Several people died there. Professor Lori Dengler of HSU has a traveling geological display she sets up at fairs and schools. She has two core samples from the marsh south of CC, one showing the sediment of 64 of about 2 inches while the second is about 6 inches and is dated to the 1799 quake that caused destruction around the Pacific Rim. It also caused subsidence along the coast from N Cal north that buried forest standing up. This quake is related in many Indian tales. Lori Dengler is a leading scienctist on quakes and is referenced many times on a google seach

Builders have always had to take into consideration earthquake faults when planning a development and now they must study the effects of a tsunami on the project..

I have a book called 'Crescent City's Dark Disaster' which has a lot of first hand accounts and photographs of the tsunami aftermath.
There is a 25 ton 'tetrapod' in town and the wave actually moved it about a foot or so off it's base.
Cars are piled on top of each other and homes were rearranged to face different directions.
I got the book from:

'The Bookcomber'
299 'I' St., Suite 5
Crescent City, CA 95531
707-464-5811

I'm thinking the store is still there as I got the book in 1995. $15 + shipping.

My guess would be that the wood frame house in the middle frame is/was in the Turnagain (sp?) Heights area, south of Achorage. That area experienced a lot of sloughing and block rotation. Notice, however, that the wood framing held up fairly well, as compared to, for instance, bricks, rock masonry, or adobe.

Here is a link for ALL tsunami (sp) damage caused by the Alaskan earthquake. It is facinating reading. what amazed me was the amout of time elapsed between the earthquake and the tsunamis. Crescent city was still feeling tidal fluctuations 24 hours after the quake. Follow the links on the bottom of the page.

Interesting quotes, but not apt for f.christian. I am convinced that he/she is an agent provocateur who really hates Christianity and tries to drive all people away from It with the inanity of his/her posts.

Why is your bio page empty if you are so quick to judge/comdemn me?

Your thoughts about jedigirl...

"I'll risk a sexist comment: You are as attractive as you are intelligent and right thinking."

No wonder!

I DID NOT condemn you. In fact, I complimented you--you have fooled almost everyone on this forum into believing you are a Christian, when it is plain from your posts that you are subjecting Christianity to ridicule and calumny. If I weren't a Christian, I would say, "Good show!! Well Done!"
