Mornin' Ms. Daisy and ohioWfan. What a great write-up and presentation.

Congratulations ohioWfan, Dad, Sis, and Eric. Thank you OWF for sharing your story with us about Eric's time in Basic. You have allowed all of us to share your joy, sorrow, and pride when Eric left the comfort of home to serve our Nation.

Eric, thank you for your service to these United States and to the King of Kings.

Godspeed and SALUTE!

Thanks for posting this, daisy.

oWf, your heartwarming story is not only a moving account of your laughing boy Eric on the road to becoming a man. It is also the story of hundreds of thousands of other outstanding young men and women from every part of our great country. It is the great American story of sacrifice, service, courage and love of country, all told from the perspective of a loving, faithful and patriotic mom.

May God bless and protect Eric -- as fine and decent a young man as there is -- and all our brave troops fighting for freedom throughout the world. May God bless oWf and all the other moms and dads back home for their courage and sacrifice on behalf of their country and the cause of freedom.

Eric and oWf are not only FR's finest, they are America's finest and they make us proud!

Aww, daisy and Billie, you did a wonderful job of presenting Eric's story!!
It's beautiful daisy!! THANK YOU!!!

Sorry I'm late getting here, but my b-i-l and nephew stayed here overnight, and they wouldn't leave!!! I wanted to tell them I had better things to do, but I didn't think it would sound polite! LOL!!

Thanks so much for letting us know how that wonderful reunion went! It brought tears to my eyes as a mom of college age sons; reminded me how much I miss them when they're not at home, and how lovely it is to see them when they do come home! Their experiences have not been so life changing as Eric's, and I pray that he will continue to be open to the Lord's Will as he moves through his life.

Mazel Tov to you and Mr ohioWfan as well! Y'all done good!!

Wow! Great read! It even made my eyes leak when I read about his witness for the Lord. You have blessed your children by raising them in the nurture and admonition of the Lord, and they have in turn blessed you.

In the car he feasted on homemade cookies, pumpkin bread, drank several cans of Vanilla Coke, and ate, of all things, one of his favorite treats-fruit snacks.

We went back to the hotel, where he relaxed in civilian clothes (and comfortable undies) then went to Red Lobster for dinner. We spent a quiet evening in the hotel, and the next day got up late, ate a huge brunch at Cracker Barrel, went to a local Louisville mall where he bought a few CD's and listened to them, went downtown to a coffee specialty store, then out to dinner at a Texas Roadhouse, where he downed a "Cowboy sized" steak

I wonder whats up with that. According to the Army recruiter I spoke to, our soldiers get fed like this in the Army all the time.. ;-)

The only time we saw him specifically in the video was when he came running out of the gas chamber flapping his arms, coughing, and trying to yell "Warriors never die" as he threw up all over the pavement. What a great thing to see, as we tried to eat our beef and mashed potatoes.

Oh how very funny! There should have been a warning in the accounting of your visit, OWF! My laptop will never recover from the shower of coffee it got from the mouthful I was about to swallow!

I am so very proud of your son Eric, OWF! Make sure he knows how very much I appreciate his service to our country, ok? What a special young man he is!

This is an experience that, no matter what Eric does with his life afterward, will have changed and molded him forever. The US Army is based on moral principles and ideas, and it reinforced the ideas of Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity, and Personal Courage, that we had taught him at home. He is considering what several men suggested to him that he become a Chaplain in the Army, but for now he is training in Petroleum supply, learning to fuel tanks and helicopters, and put out fires, and when he is done, will go to College to discern what the Lord wants him to do with his life, and to await the abundant blessings in store for him.

Excellent write-up and hearty congratulations to you, your son and your family.
I know you are so proud of him, as am I! Thanks!

Lee, Virginia at 3:00 am.

Hmmm! Delicious !
